Got to handle an all correct and matching vet bringback ZF-41 sniper today - DROOL.

Stupid bank account...

Don't pm me about it, it's already been promised to someone else now.

It wasn't priced yet (the good stuff never gets price tags and a spot out on the rack  ), but the shopkeep though he'd price it in the $1800-2000 range, which is cheaper than a No.4T only ALOT rarer IMHO.

Mikkel and I saw a dual code zf41 k98 last year, mismatched stock and barrel bands, I think he wanted $2600? Is that right?

it was 2700 actually, and i think you told me sometime after that the scope was a post war add on, but still a very nice piece, just not priced accordingly.

Yeah, great price for an all matching one. I think I am going to have to go the repro route to ever get close to one of these. Even the nice ZF41's and mounts are going upwards of a $1000 easy on Ebay nowdays.

Well, at least I got to extensively fondle and partially strip the thing. Probably as close as I'll get to owning one for the time being ;)

Was this at the Calgary Gunshow a few years back? Hmmmmm.....there's a slight problem as there were only 3 codes (makers) (byf, duv, ar) for a K98 zf41 and unfortunately there were never any dual code zf41 K98's made except by Bubba in Waffenfabrik Amerika/Canuckistan! Hopefully no one bought the dual code as they got taken with a Humper. Unfortunate.

Im pretty sure It sold. Ive seen the same dealer at shows after that, I always stop in and see how high a garand can be priced and walk away. Joe can likely second that.

The only zf-41 that I have ever seen at recent Calgary gun shows was a put together. The dealer is from out by Drumheller, and has put together many sniper repros over the years -- no4ts, mosin, SVT, K98 variants. All that I have seen have been assembled from parts.

Unfortunately, this is just a finished project and not an original, but still fun. I used a base adaptor on the rear sight base and not a replacement rear sight sleeve so not K98's were harmed in the making of this project. ;)

Here is the view through the Zf41 at 100m on an 8" bull. You can see why this would not be good in a fast moving combat situation with it's small objective lens, poor light gathering and low magnification. I kind of like it at the range though, definitely enhances targeting.

I saw one of those at a gun show a few years ago and i think it was being sold for around 1500. I don't recall if it was a miss match or not though.

If it was mismatched and humped, it's still to high. Did it at least come with a scope and mount?
