Ziess conquest real or knockoff

The Ziess Conquest Scope. I have two and both are the real McCoy. Anyway I noted a Ziess on here few days ago at the astonishing price of 450. Appears it sold or was removed??? I enquired but no answer. My question is how do you know if it's the real thing or knockoff? There are copies of other scopes as well but the Ziess seems to be a very close copy. Yes there are a lot of them on E-Bay, however when they get to members here and are being resold it is a problem to idetify the real thing.

Not sure how to tell, but there have been plenty of the older Conquests by Meopta that sold in that price range. A couple years ago, you could buy them new for $400 on sale.

I've seen legit 3-9 models sell BNIB for $399 on a couple instances. That said, there are tons of Zeiss fakes out there. The fakes I've seen wouldn't fool anyone who has a real one for reference.

Pretty much my experience.

The different writing, adjustable objective, lousy finish and logo in a different spot are a few giveaways. Some of them are incredibly bad fakes.

The older Conquest is a $450-$500 used scope. I have one on my Tikka and it is excellent. You might be thinking of the Conquest HD which is closer to a $8-900 scope?
