Ziess Conquest series mc 1" 3-9 x 40

I am looking to put a scope on my Browning T-bolt 22lr but may switch it up next year. I currently have a Leupold straight 6 Var lll on my Sako 7mm-08. I can get the Ziess 3-9 x40 for $500 plus tax. What do you think of this idea, like I said I may swap them around at some time in the future.
Any other scopes you would recommend in the $500 range give or take a hundred or so. I look forward to your comments. Cheers Roscoe
 
If I was going to get a scope on a rim fire I would be looking at the Vortex line of rifle scope's. Best bang and warrenty for your $$$. But don't believe me ask other's. Also the scope that you are talking about would be mint for your hunting rig.
 
I own a couple of Conquest scopes and I find them outstanding! Good value in the $500 range compared to a Leupold VXII or a Bushy 4200.
At dusk they're in another league. I'd have a Conquest on every rifle if I could.

Couple weeks ago just sighted in my son-in-law's new Sako A7 .270 WSM. He bought a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40 for it. I was very impressed. Zeiss glass from Europe, but assembled in the US. This particular model is specifically price pointed at $399 in the states, and $499 up here. The 4x12 is over $800.

Helluva scope! Definitely can't go wrong!
 
Once you start using that German glass you will use no other. I have a few Zeiss and would have a hard time using something domestic. It won't let you down. Although there are some good scope from Weaver and Burris that would fit what you want. PVT message me, I think I have a link to even cheaper price!!
 
I have a Conquest 3-9x40 and a Leupold VX-III 1.5-6x32 on different rifles. The glass is definitely clearer and sharper on the VX-III, and I find its easier to adjust the focus as well. Leupolds are also much easier to get warranty service and everybody raves about their customer support. I'll definitely be buying Leupold again over another Conquest.

I found just the opposite to be true.
 
Yes, I would agree with stubble jumper, when i compared a Leopold to a Zeiss side by side, it was no question, I compared similar products also in features and price, like i say the German glass is hard to beat.
 
It doesn't get much more subjective than optics, but I have to say I have been pretty happy with Zeiss. One currently sits on my Sako 75 .30-06.
