Hello all,
Im looking into buying a pair of Ziess Terra ED 10x42 binoculars. Does anyone on here have any opinions in these optics if so id like to hear about them. Also im not a very big person i have a slim face and im not going to have a chance to look thru a pair before i order them my biggest concern is how small do they close up? Would they close up enough for a kid about 15 years old to be able to look thru them and see all the field of view?

Thanks
Mike

I have those very ones and they definitely will close up enough to fit a slim face. My friend has a set of Nikon Monarchs and side by side I thought they were pretty even with regards to clarity although the Zeiss may have been a touch brighter. They feel well built and after using them for a year, overall I'd say I'm satisfied with how they performed and I believe they are worth the money. Its not as good as the other Zeiss lines but they aren't supposed to be, but they are good quality and I think a good value.

Which monarchs did your friend have they have a monarch 3,5,7. I was thinking of the Monarch line but then kinda went to german glass i would even consider Steiner predators if i knew they were just as good . Im sure i cant go wrong with the Zeiss

His are Monarch 7's. I don't think you'll be disappointed with the Terra's and I just looked on Cabelas web site and they are offering a $50 rebate right now so there you go, another reason to buy them lol.

I briefly had a pair. I think they should fold in just fine for a smaller statured man. I didn't love them although I couldn't find anything in particular wrong with them. I just didn't think they were any better than the pair of bushnell excursions I already own and the bushnells have a locking diopter which I really like. I would personally stay away from the steiner predators. I think there is a lot better glass out there for the same money. They might have been good in the 80's but everybody else caught up and passed them.
