I'd like to know uses for, and recycle price for sorted zinc wheelweights. I've heard they can be used for cannonballs and fishing jigs?

Zinc should be around $0.40-0.50/lb.

Not too many people up here have cannons....mainly usa thing

I would imagine that the mold heat required for zinc would shorten aluminum mold life

Make into ingots and sell to scrap yard.

It requires quite a bit more heat to melt and does not flow so nice so I wouldn't try to make something out of it.

Thanx for the replies, my buddy has cast a pyramidal dig-in type boat anchor with zinc, but I'm not interested in such a task; and was hoping for more than 25 cents a pound for sorted zinc WW

A big scrap yard in my area pays $0.65/lb for clean zinc if you have over 100 lbs.
So in case you can get the same price there you can turn your $0.25 zinc into $0.65 zinc with a bit of work.

Should almost make enough to pay for the propane. :)
