zip off base layer pants

Hey everyone,

I am looking for a pair of base layer pants. A co-worker suggested the Kuiu Peleton zip-off bottoms. I like the idea of not having to take off my boots and pants to remove them. Anyone have any experience with these pants or any other pants that have zippers? I couldn't find any other base layer pants with zippers but I assume they exist.

Gross. Those zippers would drive me crazy. I'll just take my boots off if I need to get my base layer off, but really they never come off, if they're on to start the day they stay on unless the weather gets real hot.

I have a pair of zip off hiking pants from MEC I bought about 3 years back, I should’ve bought a second pair of the non zip offs instead of one of each. I never zip the legs off, the non zip off pants are a better fit as they aren’t as baggy at the cuff and they don’t have the zipper digging into my shins if I’m tucking them into my boots to avoid ticks. Non zip offs only for me from now on, I’d never wear shorts while hunting anyway and if I’m hiking and need shorts I just wear shorts.

I have the kuiu ones mentioned and they are amazing. Starting out on cold mornings you can be layered up, gen as things warm up they are quick and easy to remove.

Also have the kuiu zip off long underwear and they fantastic. I prefer to dress to they conditions as they change and these make that possible.
