Does anyone have any experience with the Brno ZKK 601 in .223? I am little intrigued by the trigger but otherwise it is a good rifle in a short Mauser action. I was at the range and someone there mentioned that the ZKK 601 was rarer in .223 than in other calibers, not sure if that is true.

Pity someone tapped the receiver to take Weaver type bases, which buggers collector value.
The single set trigger is a neat feature on these rifles and .223 wasn't one of the more common
chamberings.

Nice little rifle for sure.:)

Beautiful rifle! The d&t'd receiver will hurt collector value but it will be a great shooter. My dad has one in .223 and it shoots nicely. I have one in .308 with the original ZKK mount and Carl Zeiss Jena scope made specifically for the ZKK mount.

As far as how common the .223 is compared to other chamberings, I'm not sure. I do see the ones in .308 or .243 sell for more than the .222 or .223 ones though.

Snoopy- why Millet rings?
There are Leupold, CZ/BRNO, Warne, Lynz,....
??

Great rifle BTW
ZKK rings are hard to find. The dovetail is I believe 13 millimeter where the American is 1 inch and your scope will not center over the bore causing you to be near zero but with no adjustment left. The Millet rings adjust on both sides letting you center the scope over the bore. CZ 550 rings wont work.

I have three new in the box 601 223's. The 601 308 is a really great gun with the set trigger. You can find the original zkk and aussie made rings for these gun here if you look. The millet rings are great rings for these guns and they come in various heights. Allen Lever of Lever Arms had really good deals on these guns before people realized how great a gun they are. He had the zkk and aussie scope rings in various heights for them as well. But that was many years ago. I have the guns because of one of his I can make you a deal on some of these.

The 527 series has 16 mm dovetails.

The BRNO ZG47, and 600, 601, and CZ 550 series have 19mm dovetails.

In my experience there are many types of rings available besides the Millet (who also make a model for the BRNO/CZ dovetail as well).

Alas, this one has been drilled and tapped so any flat based Weaver or picatinney rail would also fit.

Check out the Brownells list for a look see of the types.
