Like I said, I believe all long guns will be staged before and after use in a rack of some form. (Unloaded of course, DQ will be handed out otherwise, for unsafe gun handling) Some of the stages has us moving downrange using a different firearm than when we started. I don't really want a loaded firearm behind me. Pistols will obviously be in holsters.

Not all of us have the same level of training, I personally don't want someone potentially transitioning between firearms that don't have a clue what they are doing, or are at a level of excitement that they forget something.

All this should become clear once we have the rules posted!

This does sound like a lot of fun. Anyone know when and where a person can get any form of holster certifcation in Eastern Ontario and preferably within Renfrew County? I've been shooting IDPA style matches at my local club for years but they aren't sanctioned events.

Here is a good video of what I mean by the Rifle/carbine/shotgun being staged, Tasha is fun to watch as well!

Very cool!!!

I voted I can make it Saturday only but after reading and relizing its one day or the other to shoot I relize that works just as well for me for me...sorry!

I got to get my own EESA membership, get a new pistol AND do my BB course in time...looks like I've got some spending to do!!! :p

I have no idea how I missed this thread for so long, but this is perfection... I have been wanting to do a shoot like this for so long.

Tagged for interest, and I really want to know where to sign up.

I may even bring the two firearms from the pic stormbringer posted. (Minus the bloop tube :p)

Hows this for an update............

This is the artwork from which the match shirts will be based.

Hey,
I’ve never done 3 gun/rifle match. What is a good tac vest for rifle magazines?
What’s the most number of rifle rounds that will be on one course, I'm trying to see if I have enough magazines.
You said there would be an indoor pistol/flashlight portion, love the idea, but my holster wont fit a flashlight. Will we have the opportunity to draw from a table top, or something else?
Can our rifle be in a pistol caliber?
Can our "rifle" be a pistol in a conversion kit to make it a carbine? :p (Hera Arms Glock Conversion)?
Cant wait for the rules/setup :)

There are lots of different ways to carry magazines and ammo. I really can't say what would be "best" or "good" as I haven't even been able to make that determination myself. I use a belt with everything on it, and I find it works well for me, but I also have a Vest that I might consider using again for this event. I am sure Farmboy would be more than happy to point you in a good direction regarding this!

The amount of rounds is more determined by you, but I think if you had 5 10 round LAR mags, you would be fine, or enough to hold 50 rounds or so.

We won't be drawing from a holster for the indoor darkroom stage!

Can you hit stuff out to 200 yards with the conversion kit? I don't see any reason you would not be able to use this, but there are stages that you must transition to a pistol.....ie, not sure if you are using the same Pistol for the different portions of the COF!

Crap, I was hoping to carry about 30 rounds(6 mags, 5 rounds each). My rifle doesnt take LAR magazines (HK G36)

Second option was my Hera Glock Conversion, I have another G17 for the "pistol" portion. I could use the same 10 round mags for everything, with my ipsc belt. However I dont think I'll be able to hit targets 200m away.

Maybe i'll buy LAR mags and use the AR15.

I'm sooo looking forward to this :)

Thanks for the help!
Matt

Is it a real deal G-36 or is it an SL-8 Conversion?

If it is the SL-8, you can get an AR magwell for under $150 that takes LAR mags.

That's what I did, and I don't regret it.

Most of my rifles now have conversions to take AR mags, and I have a few dozen LAR mags stached away with the double sided floorplates.

Its a conversion. Stock block, G36c stock, FBI lower, G36c top rail, G36k barrel and hand guard. I had that magwell when I used it as an SL8 and really didn’t like it. I have a few G36 magazines; I'll have to get more. I like the authentic parts, this is more of a fun shoot then competition.
