New Ruger 10/22 50th anniversary.

I don't normally like the side profile of how the 10/22 looks, but I like this one a lot. Nothing to do with the rails, it has to do with the way the pistol grip normally curves down into the stock. It seems much better now.

It was the winning submission in a contest Ruger held. The winner got $5000 worth of Ruger products, a trip to the Ruger plant to see the rifles being produced and one of these rifles he designed.

they even state in the write up of it that its the American rimfire stock.

Lightweight Stock
Ruger American Rimfire™-style stock is an ergonomic, lightweight black composite stock designed for quick, easy handling that blends a classic look with modern forend contouring and grip serrations.

These are currently in Canada. I know of 1 shop that has them currently in stock. Can anyone else help with prices? I do not see them listed on any of the online sites so far.

I think Ruger missed a real opportunity with this anniversary to produce a copy of their original 10/22 configuration complete with the anodized finish, dual guide rails in the receiver, forged bolt, and walnut stock, but with the modern improvements left intact.

It would be a lot more work than what they've done (throwing parts off the shelf into a special edition), but I'll bet they'd sell a ton of them. :p
