I like the 29/629 revolvers. Have versions in 3", 4" (2, one blue one nickel), and a sixties era 6.5". They are (to my hands) the best combination of portability and power available in a handgun.
On the site dedicated to the Dirty Harry movies mention is also made of a Model 25 being used for the ability to use four in one blanks in it, and I recall one guy who worked on the movie claiming a Model 57 was used in some scenes due to the scarcity of the 29. The movie really made the gun though, they were scarce before and ADH (after Dirty Harry) they were even harder to come by. 4" versions were a little easier, as most people would put half a box of ammo through them and give up on the recoil.
