Does anyone hip shoot? I went clay shooting with my son and did ok =got 21 out of 25. The guy who was doing the clays said to me. Your shooting from the hip. He ask me to try aiming. The next 25 shots, I aim- got 17 out of 25. I did better not aiming. ?????

i shoot semi auto, one in each hand and yell "Woooo!" lots. its a great way to have strangers come talk to you.

NO doubt, aiming from the hip is harder.

At what club did you achieve this great feat of derring-do?

Stunt shooting will get you thrown out of most clubs.

I had a grumpy white guy give me some attitude at the range over hip shooing once...... once.

:)

OP, were you hip shooting with the sig 9mm or a shotgun?
:)

i think for some people, being grumpy and intense at the range is part of the "fun". the like to pretend they are soldiers at war or something.

Who knows but having fun at the range is what I enjoy. As long as the muzzle is down range or in a safe direction 100% of the time I don't care if a guy is standing on his head while he busts clays.

Funny how y'all complain but then you cream yourselves when you watch the trick shooters shooting clay. whether he is shooting from the shoulder or from the waist, as long as his barrel is pointed in the direction everyone else is shooting in I have no problem with him trying to hit the clays.

So tired of all the "if you don't shoot this way you are doing it wrong" crap, just like all the people who are trying to show off their PAL course knowledge by mentioning how a model has her finger on the trigger of a gun and therefore poor trigger control. Grow up, the damned things have been safety checked, she is posing for an action shot, let them be. Anti's don't suck the fun out of shooting, you people do. Worry about yourselves before you worry about what the world thinks of others.

''Grow up, the damned things have been safety checked", thats a wonderful piece of advise. As a range officer i look out for everyone safety and a person hip firing has poor firearm control and if he was at a organised clay shoot as he describes that would also be breaking clay sport shooting rules. As you start with butt of gun below shoulder and raise to fire. I wouldnt say most clay target shooters "creme there selfs" over trick shooters ether as i know most that i have met and myself see it as a pointless showing off routine used by manufactures to push products. If u want to hip fire do so on ur own away from others in a safe location.
