Sig vs CZ

Thank you to all who participated in answering my request for opinions.

My decision is..........the CZ.

Congrats, sounds like you got it figured out, for now, you know you want that SIG though, your gonna regret it, maybe, just sayin'. Best advice i could give: buy both. You can always cancel on the cz if you change your mind, hey, I guess that be a cancelled czeck.

Just teasin,

RM

I think I agree....just don't tell the Wifey! But one at a time.

Look at the stats on winners of competitions. You won't see SIGS. Just CZs and others. Monkey see monkey do.

I completely agree with that comment.
I am a proud sig owner, I am on my second P226, this one is the 226R in two tone...sweet! love it, love sig, can never go wrong. But I see all the IPSC guys shooting CZ....so I just bought the CZ Tactical Sport in 9mm..should pick it up next week...I think I will love it as well, we will see next range trip.

I owned a CZ tactical but just could not get use to the slide running in the frame instead of outside. Gave less than half the area to pull back on slide. I started with a 9mm 70 series 1911 back in 80`s and just need more to grab onto when pulling back slide. Thats why I shoot a SIG. But the CZ is nice.

Ok took the new CZ Tactical Sport to the range today..OMG!!!!! love it....I was shooting 1 inch groups at 7ish meters...way way easier to shoot than the sig p226....I know its not a fair comparison with a 4ish inch (p226) and 5ish inch (CZ) barrel....but the CZ was amazingly accurate and fun to shoot. So much so, now I have to figure out why I am aiming so far off with my P226?

I know the CZ you line up the front post in the middle of the back 2 posts and your target is on the top...and the sig p226 has combat sights so your line up the 3 dots and your point of impact is not visible as it is behind the dot for the center post....but it seemed so much harder to get the sig p226 to line up and hit where I pointed it...the CZ seemed to be almost effortless..
I would mostly be shooting left.... with on mag I shot 10 rounds and only 2 hit the paper...with the cz I shot 10 rounds and all ten were in the black inner circle (score 8 or more)...what is up,

any ideas? what am I doing wrong with my Sig?

I got my Sig 226R TacOps as my first pistol. Really like it, very reliable.

That being said, I recently bought a CZ75 SP01 Tactical and have to say it suits me a whole lot better. I became much more accurate with my groupings with my first magazine. Grip fits me better, less recoil, easier to handle. This will be my go to competition pistol when I get in to it.

As everyone has said, it is all about personal preference. Both of them are great pistols. Try them both, get which ever fits better and you are more comfortable with.

Grip and trigger.
I have the same problem with my 226, but not with my cz. Better thinner grips, easier trigger for me on the cz really makes a difference.

I had my Sig 226 Elite Dark and Tetra's CZ75 SP01 Shadow out on the range on Saturday. I shoot the Sig pretty decent but I don't think I give it enough trigger time to be really confident with it. Still making decent groupings at 10m. Then I shot the CZ75 which I've only shot once prior. Wow, it's like point and shoot with the CZ, making one ragged hole in the target. I'm still not a fan of the slide design but I will definitely need to add one to the collection.

thanks for the input, I agree trigger and grips...more range time is needed to get used to it...don't think I would part with either my p226 or cz tactical sport...love them both...

CZ, hands down. SIGs are nice, no doubt, but I don't think you can do much better in terms of quality and accuracy than a CZ Shadow Line.

Unless we're talking about going to a SIG X series, like an Xsix Super Match in 9mm with SAO trigger. They are solid, but also like $2,500 USD. SO... yeah.
