Super extensive lube test

Very very interesting and sure to stir up a real sh!tstorm. Many surprises here but overall his methodology is pretty good. I'm into boating and one independent testing company of salt water marine products uses nearly identical testing procedures.

Some product fanboys may really get their shorts in a knot if their favorite didn't do so hot.

I was recomended Froglube when i got my AR'S and handguns and that the only thing, i use on all of my firearms... Awsome product.... JP.

I have had great luck with Frog Lube. I have used it on ARs, a Tavor, various semi-auto pistols, and most recently a Benelli SuperSport.

Thanks man! Darn I was hoping to see FireClean on there.

Frog Lube is definitely great, as proven by your tests. The only con it has is that it gets gummy over time and will cause issues. I field strip and clean after every range session, but some will seep into the hard to reach places that require a detailed strip. On my 92A1, it was making a squish sound when pulling the trigger. Frog Lube doesn't work well in cold temperatures either. My buddy went to the range when it was a bit cold and the Frog Lube prevented his shotgun from firing.

The infinite quest for the Holy Grail of lubricants continues, but information like this narrows the field of potential products....
The world would be a better place if more of our opinions were based on evidence provided by the (relatively) vigorous application of experimental method, as opposed to here say, wishful thinking and self serving hogwash....
Just about every time I come across work such as this, I actually evaluate, and sometimes change, the selection of products I utilize in the care of my firearms...
Maybe it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks!

What ever happened to good old clp? Wet in in the summer and dry in the winter. I've never had a failure in the army and on my cqb course we fired over 5000 rounds each in one day with not one failure. At lunch we just squirted some more clp in the ejection port then ate.

Amazing that direct impingement and clp actually work and you don't need gas pistons and special lubes but I guess some people just like to spend money

That's just corrosion protection on bare steel, an AR is virtually rust-proof with any of these products. This has hardly anything to do with running an AR.

And there are missing well-known products like FireClean.

This is for the "I keep my guns nice and shiny because I don't use them" crowd and has little relevance in the black rifle market.
