Any Plans for a .308 AR? MAJOR UPDATE MAY 8 2014

Are you seriously saying you do NOT have any photos of the prototype. You send the one and only prototype to Ottawa without first taking at least one photo. REALLY :jerkit:

Or are you saying the boys in Ottawa made massive mods that made the pre-mod photos misleading.
GREAT NEWS!!
...
We will not have the prototype back from Ottawa for a couple of weeks, so please don't ask for photos, I will post some once we have the prototype back, just so folks can get an idea of what we are making.

Oh man, I can't wait for this. So much for my AR-15 and LR-308 builds. Need to put those on the shelf for now and start saving money to be able to buy this when it comes out. To be able to have a NR 308 Semi Auto that I could use on my own land and take out hunting, is enough for me. I could care less about the magazine count. As long as it takes PMAGs.

I think what ATR is saying is they send the prototype to Ottawa dressed in a crude plywood stock and furniture. I'm sure that is not the model they want to be marketing. Once the prototype gets back they will likely dress it up in nice furniture and take proper pictures.
Contgrats to them for building a NEW design Canadian NON-R semi 308.

It is NOT a battle rifle!! It is a SPORTING rifle!!
We do not have any plan of looking to the military for sales, there are plenty of player already in that market.
As for calibers, we start with 308, but can do 243, 260 or pretty much anything based on the 308 casing, but for now the only offering will be 308.
Piston rifles are not known to be as accurate as DI operated rifles are and we are all about accuracy.

Oh Wow!!!! .358 Winchester, please!!!!

...and yes, I can be very patient :)

Poor ATR guys. I feel for you.
To boost your spirits, I would like a 308 semi that weighs less than 30 pounds and can make a gong ring at 200. It can take any magazine you want. I'll buy them. It can be anywhere from 18-68 inches long, I care not.
The point is you build great product. My dealings with you tell me that I'll be happy to purchase when you're good and ready to sell.
ps. Under 10,000.00 $ please.

The new .45 Raptor looks like a beast! haha

I plan on buying one,,,,, for pre order it would be nice to have different options such as furniture and barrel length and profile for those that want a lighter or heavier barrel. Either way im in and think what you guys are doing is great!

Woooowww very excited to see this unit. huge props to alberta tac anyone in product dev or production knows what goes into a project like this. design prototyping, tooling, new equipment...testing! it is a massive commitment and undertaking. even attempting to do a ground up 7.62 is ballsy. the day the RC's gave er non restricted status would have been a good day in the shop! she's gonna be a pricy unit.... im a ways out from being anywhere close to affording AT product.... not to mention the brass...... one day. For those asking for reasonable pricing........ Canadian market oriented......short run production.......crazy good quality control........ primo fit and finnish......308.......NR, I'd say 3k min and that IS reasonable.

Its far out but I can't wait to see a range report! The more I think about the more exited I get, its awsome to have not product but quality product comming out of Canada!

I'm really glad I didn't go with the FAMAE just yet. This has potential to be truly incredible.

You and me both... i honestly was a day or two away from slapping money down and i just happened to stumble accross this searching the net.... it should go under the black and green section. I would have missed it and bought the sg if i didn't get lucky.

Ok seriously, I know I'm probably gonna get blasted for this, but how cool would a 22/243 be!?
55 grainers at 3900FPS!!! :D
80 grainers at 3500FPS!!!

So what you are saying is that in the foreseeable future we might have a semi auto 243 with a nice heavy barrel on it that's perfect for whacking coyotes? Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! (12 year old girl shriek)
