Shorten PAL Approval Times

Here is why this is somewhat of a joke and can really irk you………………. The wife submitted hers later than me, had her reference call in about six weeks later than mine had and she just got it in the mailbox. Mine is currently still at the CFO. The big kicker is the whole thing was my idea and she wasn't all that interested.

Too funny Stu44, Mine was approved today at precisely 45 days. What I found bizarre is I mailed it March 17th and on the 24th April they still did not have it so I went to the place I took the safety course. They assumed as did I it was lost in the mail. They gave me a new photo and I had everyone re-sign the paperwork. I sent that off registered on April 26th and then on the 29th the web site said they received it April 1st. Cost me 10.65 to send it then had to email them advising what I had done, They emailed me back to say the 2nd application had been located and they would not double charge me. They did not call any references as I did include a scan of my 2010 Olympic accreditation as well as a scan of my blood donor card. That in itself says I do volunteer my time to get a needle, or help fellow citizens. It's the gangsters I have a problem donating blood to.

When you're doing the webservices signup to check the status of your application, what do you put in the place of birth part? Is it just the city? Or city/province?

You have to put it exactly how you put it in application

I'm aware of 3 applications where it was entered
City <space> Province on the application.

Entering just the city on the website worked.

Got a letter in the mail from the RCMP today. It reads:

"Thank you for your application for a license under the Firearms Act. We have reviewed your application and found that you did not include proof that you have met the safety training requirements, as required under section 7 of the Firearms Act.

If you have passed the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC/CRFSC) test but did not include the information your application, please attach a copy of the course report. If you do not have this certification, please see information below on how this certification may be obtained."

It then goes on to state…

"To keep your file open and under consideration, we must receive your information by the due date shown above."

So what is your question? Did you take the course and pass? Did you not include the proof of passing as required?

I got the same letter, because I didn't include a copy of the tests. I intentionally applied before I got the test results to get the ball to start rolling, if you know what I mean.
I then sent in the letter, with the application number written on the top of the pages, and followed up a month or so later.
Check on-the-line, what your status is and get your application number. Then call them to see what's up. ?

I can't understand this issue. When I took both my tests, the instructor gave me the results copy right then. I then sent everything off together. Do some instructors not give the results to the students?

Weird.

No man, that isn't the right thing. You need to wait til the government sends you the test results in the mail....they will send you two sets of each test. You then send one each to the application process. At least that's how it just worked for me. I took the courses early March.
