It started out with the 'need' to obtain a model 89 in 500 S&W from Big Horn Armory but got side tracked, for the time being, by my recent acquisition of a Yellow Lab pup.

I believe so and at the moment seems to be a little 'chunkier' than our previous Yellow Lab. However, still a pup and the line of females she comes from seem to show only some of the distinctive features of the english style so I guess time will tell.

, I was just funnin' ya. And don't get me wrong, your pup is a cutie pie. But the model 89 is pretty cute too. I've been drooling over the carbine model for the past few years. I just can't seem to find the 3k$ it would take to get that beauty. Hope you and the pup have fun while you're waiting for your new gun lol.

Yes,
they are a little on the pricey alright. I had been giving serious consideration of getting one though, and still am. Sort of in preparation, I gave my young son my 45-70 Marlin 1895GS and, there is still a void in the gun cabnet to fill, so, who knows. However, I recently picked up a model 70 Winchester Super Express in 375 H&H that hasn't burnt any powder yet. Puppy time has taken the front row seat.
