pretty sure that's a 686 with the non flute. 627 is on the frame size up, 8 round cylinder and slab side barrel

Nope that is an N frame. You can tell by shape of swing arm and length of cylinder in relation to frame. Classic 27/627s were 6 rounds.

I have the same 5.5" unfluted model of 1989 627-0. Did a very nice trigger job on it, it's a real tack driver with just about anything from 148's wads to 180 grainers heavy loads. I love it.
