I am using universal clays for .38 spl , .357 158 gr cactus plains cast rnd nose bullet ,blaser brass . My reloading manual says 3.1-4.3 of clays . do i need to put any filler in the case to push the powder to the primer for complete burn ?

New loader question. Do i need gas checks for cast bullets in .357 revolver and lever action ?

Probably not.
Standard weight bullets of about 160 grains, loaded full tilt, may get about 1400 fps in a good revolver and around 1700 fps in a lever action rifle. This is getting into iffy territory in the rifle, but may be OK.
If it is too much for the cast bullet it will lose accuracy. I will guess it will be OK without a gas check.
You will likely get told that it will lead the barrel, but if accuracy remains OK, it shouldn't.

Yup. Totally agree. Unless you are going to load it to max you will be just fine. Find a nice mid range load the gun likes and hit everything you point it at. ;)
