reloading with universal clays question

I am using universal clays for .38 spl , .357 158 gr cactus plains cast rnd nose bullet ,blaser brass . My reloading manual says 3.1-4.3 of clays . do i need to put any filler in the case to push the powder to the primer for complete burn ?

Probably not.
Standard weight bullets of about 160 grains, loaded full tilt, may get about 1400 fps in a good revolver and around 1700 fps in a lever action rifle. This is getting into iffy territory in the rifle, but may be OK.
If it is too much for the cast bullet it will lose accuracy. I will guess it will be OK without a gas check.
You will likely get told that it will lead the barrel, but if accuracy remains OK, it shouldn't.

Thanks for the answers . felt wierd loading these rounds as clays are very light loads . but clays and longshot were the only powders i could find locally.

Yup. Totally agree. Unless you are going to load it to max you will be just fine. Find a nice mid range load the gun likes and hit everything you point it at.
