I personally know Matt Kirkpatrick and he has been trying to get Colt rifles in the hands of civvies for a few years now. He is an avid shooter/ competitor and a great guy!! this is not a surplus sell off.

Next time you see him, tell him thanks. I'm going to be all over this like a dirty shirt.

Sounds good.

I wonder how long they had these 1000 semi only diemaco rifles...

Sounds like a police order that never went through.

When did they say the rifle are already built? They said

"The production run on the guns will be in lots of 1,000 rifles. They will be marked as Diemaco rifles."

Meaning they WILL be made in lots of 1000.

He even said "The rifles would be made to the same specifications as those provided to the Canadian Forces.

He didn't say they have been made.

I wonder if we can enlist Colt Canada to help lobby to have the AR moved to NR,... since they now make dedicated civilian rifles.....

(while all AR sales would go through roof if so,... theirs would probably explode).

Good idea

He never said they were already built, I only wonder because they are marked as diemaco, which is a now defunct company.

Why would you re-tool to manufacture new diemaco parts? Now imagine you had some left over "NIB" from before..... and here is a chance to sell them...

I only say police because military ones would have been select fire.

so yeah... these rifles "would" be available in the future, but it does not mean that they are new manufacture.

I happen to know there are companies in Canada that are sitting on piles of rifles that they are not able to sell, and they are lobbying the government to permit the sale of said rifles...

Also, if I had ex-police or military firearms I wanted to sell commercially, I would never admit that to the government, Think of how much harder it is to sell a "military" or "police" rifle to civilians... a "civilian version" however... even though it is mechanically the same, is an easier sell to the uneducated politicians and public.

Either way, I dont care.

I would love a CC or Diemaco C8, regardless of when it was made or for who.
