Which should i go for?

I only own one AR15 and it's a Norinco. Haven't had a problem with it yet so I voted Norinco. I'm sure the S&W will be awesome as well.

As to the price, I paid $599 for the DA556.

What?! S&w is only $700? There's no reason to get a norinco at that price IMO.

if you never had an AR before get the Norco. the question is spend more money or spend less? you will be much happier with a norc and a case of ammo then a smith all by itself.
I'm not sure the smiths are 100% mil-spec.

How do I get the LE discount on the S&W? Is there a LE discount on the M&P9?

I'm not sure about the 9 but try SFRC and Frontier for the M&P15. just need to scan and send your ID.
Sadly I'm a civvy so I paid retail, but it's a great gun.

Yeah... I looked around after this and the price difference is closer to eotech than bushnell.

I found the trigger on the norcs to be very stiff and gritty compared to my GTO C15, which is a budget AR. One consideration is that you can't take the Norc south of the border. If you ever plan on doing any shooting down there, buy non-Chinese.

I believe another member here DID bring his norc down south for a venture, no problem (I'll try to dig up the thread) ..... I believe its you can't BUY them in the United States...... someone more knowledgeable will correct me if I'm wrong......

Trigger job is easy.... Arms East sells the ALG ACT .... plug and play and a really good price.
