Definitely a buyers market for AR's right now

I love it! I held out until now because I knew the situation was ridiculous, now AR's are cheap and plentiful. Ditto for GP100's, Glocks and Vanilla model Sig handguns. Now they can be had for very cheaply used on the EE. Specialty revolvers, some 1911's, and any stainless Elite model Sigs are in high demand and command top dollar. Everything is one big production run away from taking a nosedive in value. Buy something because you like shooting it. Don't base your choice on exclusivity because someday it may lose its exclusive status and you'll be the cat holding the bag. At least you have something when you shoot what you buy and like what you shoot and you aren't looking at it from an investment standpoint.

Get rid of everything you don't like to shoot, regardless of price. and be happy with what you have. You can only shoot one gun at a time anyways.

I saw someone pay $3500 for a Ruger AR at the Buffalo Gun Center last year. It was the last rifle left on the shelf and there were 2 other people in line to buy it if this guy were to walk away from it. They're still bitter over there....

The prices of ar15 isnt that high anymore in the US. It is almost back to normal from what I can see.

You guys are living in a freakin pipe dream... I was told these are going to be a premium rifle, which is going to command a premium price. These are supposed to be coming with a hard case, OTIS cleaning kit, sling and Colt Canada marked lock block.

Pipe dream based on these words:

http://ottawacitizen.com/news/natio...-c7-rifles-and-c8-carbines-to-canadian-public

"The company expects a market for the product as many police officers and military personnel have inquired about acquiring their own versions of Colt products for sport shooting and practice."

Personally, I don't need a $3,000 "practice rifle" when I can get a Colt from irunguns for $1,400. Oh, I'm sure they'll have buyers/collectors who will gladly shell out $3,000 for the green furniture nostalgia, but if Colt Canada wants to sell a premium rifle that comes with a hard case, OTIS cleaning kit, sling and Colt Canada marked lock block, well, they're really not answering to a market for the product that many police officers and military personnel have inquired about, acquiring for their own versions of Colt products for "sport shooting and practice". LE/Mill members can already buy Colt ARs for $3,000 (or $1,400 from irunguns for that matter).

When Colt Canada said they were marketing a $3,000 premium rifle to to Police Officers and Military Personnel, I guess they were thinking about selling these to the top brass? Haha, Cpl Bloggins and his brother Constable Bloggins won't want to cough up $3,000 for a replica of the work rifle to practice on his own time.

Hey irunguns, looks like you'll definitely still have a market for those Magpul Colt ARs here in Canada because Colt Canada's rifle is going to be a premium one that many of us can't afford.

More like no shotgun and only if the single shot is a 22! Lol

I believe that for many (brainwashed and ignorant anti-firearms people) their agenda is no firearms of any kind for civilians; only military and Law Enforcement will be allowed the use of firearms.
This is why we must stand united as firearms owners and keep fighting for our rights to own firearms of all types. The more RPAL Licenses and Registered Restricted Firearms their are the harder it will be to take away our Restricted Firearms.

For a basic AR(flat-top, no sights, 16" service barrel, adjustable stock, rubber foregrip, basic BCG, trigger group etc), I cant see how one can justify more than $1000. Not when you have 50 or more companies making the exact same thing.

Really? I think you've forgotten about the High River Gun Grab, still unaddressed by any level of government; and likely will not to be. While I agree with the sentiment, it sure didn't work that way for 12(6) prohibs and full autos. Look at the number of those we lost through the stroke of a bureaucratic pen. The government of the day laughed at us.

If and when they start rounding up semi-autos rifles, what do you think Canadians will do besides belly ache about the injustice of it all? There won't be any Bundy Ranch type of public support when our homes are ransacked in the wee small hours of the morning and you are stripped searched and hauled off to the slammer for non-compliance.
