I bought it used in 2005.
Anyway to run an SN? Or I could try and dig a magnet outta somewhere.
If its from before 2000 its worth. What others have posted, if post 2000 its just an. Express with electroless nickle finish.
Original MM had all stainless parts right down to pins and bolts, then electroless nickle plated.
Mine from 1994 has 80,000+ rounds fired and still ticking!

Here's the thing though...there's an 870 Police Marine Magnum. But it doesn't say Police on the receiver. Is that one made any differently than the Express Marine Magnum? The Police one has rifle sights.
Best way is to call Remington direct. I'm curious to know the year of manufacture.
You can check by the barrel code. There should be two letters stamped into the barrel on the left side I think. It will tell you month and year of manufacture.
Code info here: rem870.com/2012/01/19/remington-870-serial-number-lookup/
All Police models have the Wingmaster receiver, I suspect that one does as well. Also no plastic trigger guard or MIM parts.
