norc cqa range report and one problem solved..scope mount

Seriously?
It's only $275+tax and shipping.
That's about 50% of the cost of the complete rifle.

I'm not knocking the trigger, I have one and I love it but for a $600 rifle an ALG would be more logical.

I have a Norc and a DA that each have this trigger. Trigger pull, for me anyway, is about firing the weapon. No relation to how pretty the finish is. So yes.....Seriously!

I just bought a Rock River Match trigger on their USA website for $108. I have installed this model trigger on 4 other ARs and love the light crisp let off. It is a real trigger and great value.

My ARs are all scoped (one has a TRS 25 red dot, which works very well). Scopes include the Bushenel AR 3-9 ($125 in USA), Burris 1-4, Millet 1-4 (I prefer the Millet reticle), and a cheapo VisionKing ($99 on EBay). It is a 30mm scope, 1.25-5X. Very similar to the Millet and works well. It sits in a set of cheapo high see-thru rings ($10 on Ebay).

Of all my rifles, the Norinco gets shot the most. it works well and the cheap scope does the job. The Rock River trigger is perfect, and i would put it in any AR.

One trick about the trigger install. the instructions say to remove the safety, first. I have found that with a bit of wiggling, I can get the old trigger out and the new one in, without having to remove the safety.

The ALG ACT trigger is the best value on the market today.
If you don't like the pull weight just buy the JP Rifles trigger and hammer springs from Brownells and have at it.

As for your optic don't bother puttin on an NC Star.
For the same or a little more money you can get something much better.
Go looking in the optics forum for recommendations.

For optics I wasn't going to use a ncstar scope. Just the mount if I can find one in Canada. I have read up on the burris mount and it might fit the bill also.My optics for it include either leupold or bushnell elite series, which I have both kicking around right now doing nuthin but collecting dust! Really, for just shooting paper, how much $$$ do I put into it? If I could do it for under a grand total...so 400 bucks into a scope mount and a trigger....I could deal with that easily. The nearest CQB matches to me are 2.5 hours drive one way...an with fuel costs today its not feasible to me

So today I visited P-D Enterprises...a supporting dealer and ended up with the Burris PEPR mount for $105.00 plus tax. Gotta say, that is a nice mount for the money. Got home and threw a elite 3x9x40 in it and mounted it up...I am happy as a clam in mud. Eye relief is no problem.bonus with the dual rings that are either smooth on top or the ones with rails that can be used for mounting a halo...This makes me a really happy camper!!! THNKS for the advice on the mount guys...Now trigger is next,, but first to get it out shooting again...

My problem with Norinco and DA is not that they have a poor finish.
It is that they do not accept Milspec parts without screwing around with them.
I own both a Norc CQ-A and an M305 shorty and neither one is 100% compatible with USGI milspec parts.
My Stag, Noveske, and Springfield Armory rifles do on the other hand.
The specific issue with the CQ-A is that a Milspec safety selector will not freely move between safe and fire without modification.
I have tried 4 different ones and all have the same issue yet they work perfectly in my other rifles.
I am not the only person with this issue.
It may seem trivial to some but not to me

As far as I know, Norc CQA is commercial spec. I installed comm spec Magpul stock and grip without single problem.

I had the same problem. If you look at the safety bar, it is a cylinder with a flat on it. To make it work, as I recall, I had to file the flat section a bit wider.
