Christensen Arms = lemon, stay away!

No they did not offer money or a replacement, Wanstalls did call me on Friday, after reading this post, to correct my expectations on when i should expect my rifle to be repaired in which case likely not soon or I could get the rifle back now in its current state.

I think in all fairness they are doing their best to resolve this embarrassing situation with their local resources and the shipping/border wait times involved with Christensen arms in Utah.

Unfortunately that doesn't solve the problem that i still have no functioning rifle and that i am still very much not happy.

My bad, i was convinced they offered a refund (which would be the least they could do...)

Did you pay by credit card ? If they refuse to refund i'd consider a credit card charge back since the product has been returned to them.

Small claims is also an option to get compensated and/or refunded.

hey mike deal with Gary (and only Gary) and ask him for a "store buy back" he has helped me out before with a similar situation i had.
cheers.

They didn't offer you a refund????. Well that is not at all good. I cant say that I am impressed with Wanstalls at all. I will add them to the list that includes badger arms of companies not to deal with.

Wanstalls is an amazing company and awesome place to shop.

It would seem in this case that they are not as awesome as you think. 3600 bucks for a broken rifle and they have kept the guy waiting for seven weeks and have not offered a refund. that's not awesome.

Credit card companies wont just do a charge back without any reason.
The dealer is doing its best to fix the problem and if the dealer or retailer is attempting to fix the problem, credit card companies will not do a charge back.

I like how everyone expect Wanstalls to refund $3600 for the rifle just because it had some issues and they are trying to deal with it.
If Wanstalls is not willing to fix the problem, then yes refunding the $3600 is reasonable.

Ask yourself this....If you buy a defective car, would you demand refund for the car from the dealership?

Many car dealerships now have 30/60/90 day returns.

3100 + tax and the gear is defective than it should be returned and appropriately replaced. The dealer should be able to return it to the manufacturer as a defective unit. This isn't some 350 Norinco.

Sounds like a chity deal...

Lots of suggestions here but it is painfully obvious that there are only two options left. Wait for the parts to come in and "hope" that works which I am doubting based on your description or wait another 7 weeks for the proper forms from ATF to ship the whole gun back to the company and another 7 weeks for them to fix it. That way they will have all the parts needed on hand and can test it before shipping it back. Which ever you choose, it is going to be a few more months, not weeks to get it fixed at which time you are just going to sell it anyway. Get another AR, and sell the first one whenever it gets back. Stick to the regular .556 as well. There really is no advantage in an exotic for punching paper.

Brand new car with a DOA engine.

Yes.

OP, what are your plans to replace it with? (just curious)

See my other thread, http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php/1094875-I-need-AR-purchase-help
Maybe a KAC, not sure yet, I'm very very very skiddish now with "top tier" firearm purchases so maybe a stag 3gr, price is much lower.

At any rate 3gun is pretty much a write off for this summer, maybe I'll diet and exercise. Instead of running and gunning, I'll just do the running, I could lose a good 15 pounds.
