M305 Problems / Questions

My m1a is brutally hard to remove mags. Also brand new. Maybe with wear?
Seems like good enough ammo. Did your rifle not come with the manual? If not, download it. For m1a.

Lubed it like crazy I assume?

Thanks orthoboy, I have read the manual for my M305 and now I am giving the m1a version a read, maybe there will be something in there that will give me an idea.
 
I think something is wrong with your rifle. Que the norinco apologist fanboys. "This almost never happens!" or "All brands have problems you know! Mine works great!"
QC on norc m305's is just not there, and many will not run straight out of the box.
 
Thanks for the replies. I am going to take it apart and try the tilt test now. I will post pictures of the gas piston and what it is hitting when I try to take it out. I am in southern ontario and I think I definitely should go try out the tactical teachers monday night clinic!

hey, just for kicks can I email you some pics of LRB QC ? and I really like LRB but I've never met a norinco rifle with issues like these.
I'd post the pics but I don't want to start a riot with the LRB fan club


OP, the piston is hitting your bayonet lug, undo gas lock, slide the gas system forward, rotate and remove the piston

when you are chambering a round are you pulling back oprod firmly and letting it slam home or are you riding it shut?
did you place the round in the chamber and then close bolt? this is VERY dangerous by the way.
always let it slam home, always feed from magazine.
if gas system is on, round is chambered by letting oprod fly home, and she still does what you are describing, don't mess around with it, send it back. my dealings with sfrc tell me they will look after you.

That might be part of the problem, if you haven't been able to get the piston out then it's likely that there's still a fair bit of oil clogging up your piston assembly and gas vents. For regular use, you'll want to get your piston out to clean the carbon build up out of your gas system about every 500 rounds or so, or if it starts acting up.
 
would not hinder chambering the first round.....but it would cause cycling issues where the bolt may not travel back far enough to eject yes. but the extractor should still be grabbing it

^^^yes. And I too had an M305 where the gas piston was not lining up straight with the PPP rod. There was not a chance in hell that rifle would shoot straight. I bought it from Leaver Arms but they told me to go pound sand and that if it fired, it was in working order so "no defect, no return".

I sold the rifle for what I paid for it to someone that was going to mod it anyway and NEVER spent another cent with Leaver Arms.
 
45ACPKING is pretty much THE guy for M14 know-how around here, I'd follow his advice or at least take it to one of Tactical Teacher's Monday nights for a looksee before trying to shoot it again.
