Received confirmation this morning that it's approved but not shipped yet.
With all the good deals Ryan puts on its a wonder how he is able to get these things done in a decent time.

how much fiddling around did you have to do with the inserts for them to fit properly???

I talked with Marcie this morning, they are working on getting everything shipped out, but with 100 plus orders in 2 days, just taking a little more time then normal...but they are working on it

the pictures dont do it justice...I think the scratches might be dog hair
Ryan said that the end of the cartridge needed to be rounded off to look more like the actual bullet and he is going to show me what he means. That may be true in his case but I completely destroyed one of the casings trying to make it fit. You can only round off the end so far until it runs out of material...and still it didnt fit. I actually pulled a piece off the rim with the extractor. Once that happened I figured that since the adapter was already ruined, I am going to find out exactly where it needed to be sized.... I took a candle and coated the adapter with soot and then placed it in the barrel...and then when I removed it, I could see where it was rubbed off.

Here is what I did to make the adapters fit, and they work smooth as silk but I only did this because the gun was $99..... I do not recommend this method for anyone else...so if you try it, you are on your own.

I used the lee case trimmer for 9mm to hold the back of the case and placed it in the chuck of an electric drill. Then I coated the adapter with valve grind compound and spun it in and out of the barrel until it went easy. Then cleaned it up with 000 steel wool. Takes 30 seconds to do each adapter and they are perfect. The shape of the adapters did not change, I did not round off the ends.
Your barrel may be different, I dont know..but this worked for me

$99. for a .22 semi auto quirky gun that only 2500 or so were made? I ain't complaining. A couple guys on the other sportowy threads are checking into making more inserts at a reasonable cost and my son has friends/ acquaintances that have a cnc machine. He is going to ask them if they can make the inserts and for how much. I think if we order 1-2000 pieces we would get a good price. I figure a really good quality Aluminum alloy. I think steel or brass might get to heavy to eject properly,, not sure though!

a step by step on how to "round off the inserts" would be nice.
"round off the inserts" is a sketchy vague description.

good idea with the drill... maybe have a piece of 800 grit sandpaper on a bench and then spin the drill as you roll the tip on that

in my case, it was not the tip that needed work...it was the whole adapter.
Here is a picture of what my adapters look like after polish...as you can see, they are the same profile as before
The action cycles them slick as butter
The marks going lengthwise on the adapter are from sliding them on top of each other when you put them in the mag
please ignore the crumbs on the place mat

One method I am considering is using machinist dye to determine where the problem is and then grinding a custom tool steel bit to put them in my lathe and reprofile based on specs for loaded ammo.

Loaded ammo has quite a taper compared to these inserts..The loaded 7.62x 25 is very sloppy fit in the chamber... I didnt have machinist dye so I used soot

soooooooooooooooooo that means they did not use a 7.62x25 chamber reamer when they made the barrels which really makes this interesting. I will have to cast the chamber now to get dimensions.

then it would be interesting to compare chambers and that might be where the problem lies, inconsistant barrels...?
