Looking for some help on a build, I ordered a Nordic AR22 kit for my 10/22 and want to use a Dlask 8" barrel, will a Hogue 7"Extreme free float forend and an Ace stock (just not sure what one yet)

my question is will the 8" barrel be too short for the forend? I also want to keep the rifle the shortest possible without making it restricted.

Any help or build pics would be great

Thanks

An 8" barrel is too short, 11.5 is the shortest you can do with a collapsible stock. Running a barrel that makes your oal length less than 26" the firearm goes straight to prohib.

Found one!! this is CGN members docburn build

Note that Docburn has used the longer version of the ACE stock. ACE also make a shorter one which, if you pair with such a short bbl, could put you under 26".

Anyone have a 10" barrel with a 7" shroud ?

Yah, I think this is 10.5" bbl & shroud with 7" HG. Would have to measure to be sure. You could always take a hacksaw to a 9" SR-22 HG and shorten it match the bbl, if you are set on a flush end.

Same bbl & shroud but with 4.5" HG:

Same HG with 12" bbl and flash hider:

I did a cheap SBR build.

Found a 80.00 used Ruger 10" Charger barrel, used Arch Angel 556 stock 140.00, used a spare buttstock Ihad.

I also added a buffer tube sling mount, drilled and tapped it into place, used epoxy in the allen key head as well as between the collar and buffer tube so the stock cannot retract shorter than 670mm (660mm is min).

Much lighter, super handy and reaches out to 100 yards with ease on gophers, just love it!!

If I want the longer stock barrel and wood stock its all just swapping out the bolt on parts.

What's on the end of the first picture with the hogue tan float tube?

Kineti-tech barrel shroud. Also, those Hogue grips are OD - but I can see how they look pretty brown in the photo. That's just poor white balance on the camera.

Wow nice build. Just wondering the length was fully collapsed without being pinned. Silly laws.

Thanks yeah it just balances so much nicer now, without the flash hider and fully retracted with the CAA butt stock it was about 25.5 inches, with the sling collar pinned and expoxied to the buffer tube it is 660-670mm 26 to 26.4 inches (can't remember) without using a hammer the stock cannot go any shorter now.

OVERALL LENGTH LESS THAN 26"/660mm RULES:

CURRENT LAW CC s. 84(1) "prohibited weapon" (d):
If the firearm ARRIVES at the "less than 26"/660mm in overall length" condition by "sawing, cutting" etc., then it is forced into the "prohibited weapon" class. If it left the factory at that too-short length, or arrived at that too-short length by the addition or substitution of factory-made or custom-made parts that are NOT SHORTENED FACTORY-MADE PARTS, the limit does NOT apply. It is unrestricted, UNLESS it is semi-automatic AND centrefire.

Well well well. That is interesting. So, if I read that right, a SR-22 with a 6" factory barrel with the buttstock & buffer tube removed, would be unrestricted? It goes against everything I've heard about the 26" OAL, but this is the first time I've seen the CC quoted.
