Century Arms N-PAP AK-47 Semi-Automatic 7.62mmX39mm 16.25" 30+1 Wood Stock

All AK 47's and variants are prohibited by name. No chance of bringing this in.

Well not exactly. That is the generally accepted belief but to be accurate there are versions of the rifle that are not only not prohibited, but non restricted! These non restricted versions of the rifle were made by a Finnish company back on the 80's called Valmet. Not all of their AK's are non restricted. Just a few models that had less evil looking sporting stocks and lacked pistol grips. There were exempt from the prohib list due to the feds purchasing many of them for the Inuit. Anyone who wants a tactical looking AK just needs to find one of these rifles and modify it with conventional AK junk to get the AK they want. The $ of these rifles were 5 times the cost of a norc AK in the 80's. Today the value has doubled fetching at least $3000

Oh god one can only imagine what the previous 2600 posts contained...

Well here are a few of your posts just for the fun of it:

"I'm assuming the AK47 is full auto and has a drum mag right?"
"unfortunately I have no clue, sorry."
"I also noticed a fraud report forum, is this new?"

Oh well. Enjoy the rest of your day.

So cool they named a rapper after it lol

maybe if we ask real nice.

I remember that I saw somewhere a pump action AK ( but not called an AK in name but looked like an AK) for the California market. If there were minor cosmetic changes to the rifle could that perhaps be imported into Canada?

I am waiting for the insults to be hurled at me.....

For $2000-$3000 you can get a non-restricted Valmet from the US....Irunguns has imported quite a few previously.

I don't know about a pump action AK47 but I thought someone was making a straight pull back model. Basically a AK47 with no gas system .

Actually... making the AK and variants prohib was the "old" conservatives under c-17

No...The "Progressive Conservatives" made most of the the AK's, AR's from non-restricted to restricted in 1992-ish. The Liberals won the 1993 election and subsequently turned most all of the newly classed restricted (military style) rifles and made them prohibited in around 1994-95. Being that they had just been made registered by the previous government, there was no way to escape the prohibition of ones' property under the Liberals :(

I know exactly what you are talking about now all I need is a parts set a flat and a bending jig and a AK barrel with no gas port drilled

It would be a really good idea to make sure that the SFSS would not consider that to be an AK variant. Otherwise there might be the opportunity to determine in court whether you had manufactured a prohibited firearm.

Its the receiver that's prohibited. Not the barrel, gas system or any other parts. You can own all the AK parts you want and you don't even need a PAL. But no receiver, So forming an AKM receiver in a "bending jig" would be illegal.

a PUMP Action AK called by another name....cannot be the same type of receiver as an AK47. Take a look.

BTW I am grandfathered with a 12.5 and own 2 Aks, including a Hungarian model.:p

That looks VERY similar to an AKM receiver. I wouldnt be surprised if it was one. Wasnt there a bunch of pellet guns imported from China a few years ago that were made on AKM receivers? And later prohibited?
