Let's see some pic's of your SxS's & O/U's

Chiappa Triple threat.. I got It from calgary shooting center. This shotgun has one big downside.. price..

Chiappa introduced that including a full length version couple years back, I think? Asking out of curiosity, do all three bbls shoot to same POA?

After months of browsing this thread and drooling, I finally took the plunge and got myself a Franchi Instinct L.... My first O/U and first gun purchase period. Could not be happier with it :)

I like those new Franchi's. It's an attractive gun for a decent price.

That was a big think for me, is I didn't want something cheap and I wasn't ready for something super expensive. I find this to be a great value. I love the wood, darker then I thought it would be, which I love. Love the case hardening and the fit is great for a 1299 gun. My next O/U will either be another Franchi down the line or a Caesar Guerini. Very Impressed by this O/U.... very light compared to the 1100 I inherited lol. Best of all when I was taking this out of the box last night with my wife beside me (who isn't a shooter.... yet), said "that is bad***).

Women have an eye for beautiful things and I've noticed that doubles, whether O/U or SxS, have a beauty that can sometimes help pacify one's spouse after she finds out how much you paid for it. LOL!

Time to bump this back to the top...

The BSA records were destroyed by German bombing during the war, so I can't put a definitive date on this gun, but my best guess is mid-'30's. The catalog dates from 1937. This one has never been refinished, though the chambers have been lengthened to 2 3/4", before it came into my hands. These were considered very low-end guns by British standards. A "best" British double would have been 8-10 times the price of one of these, and even a top end box-lock would have been £35-40.

It's very chunky looking when set beside a normal box-lock game gun. The barrels were dovetailed chopper lump, a system used by Winchester in their model 21, though I believe BSA was the first to use it. It's suprisingly light and well balanced- trigger pulls are very heavy however. Not bad wood either, for what was considered a cheap gun.

The action was blacked rather than colour hardened. In one photo you can see three small circles on the buttstock... these were 3/4" holes drilled to lighten and balance the gun, then plugged, and the butt finished off with no plate or pad. This was a fairly common pratice, even with best guns.

I have never owned a SxS but have owned a number of O/U's. Currently I have only one in my possession but I have a deposit holding another, which I wont post until I take delivery of, from a fellow CGN'r. Here is my current O/U.

Winchester 101 D.U 50th, 12 ga, 3" chambers, 27"winchoke barrels.

Is a three barrelled gun allowed here? A black powder drilling in 10x10x45-70.

I Don't see why wouldn't it be legal.. combination guns are leagal.. 3 barrel shotgun is legal.
The right question is "Can you find one?" and what would be the price..?

i got a 18" barrel insert in 45-70 for my Chiappa Triple threat :) that will give me 45-70x12x12 :) that should be nice too.

^Well, I found this one in Texas. Cost me about 3400 just to get my Canadian name on it. And extra for the brokerage export/import fee via Prophet River.

I discovered it's near twin that went for auction in the USA. In calibres 12x10x38-55. The auction house would not disclose the realized price as it's against their privacy policy for the winner.

Cheers!

Ok everyone's posting pics of there realllly nice gun but here are two restoration projects that I'm bringing back to life so that they can be shot and hunted with again instead of being deemed "wall hangers"
