Remington Thunderbolt .22LR

I just might have to try some Thunderbolts in my bolts. So far my 22's (semi, revolver and bolts) have seen a steady diet of Win555's & 333's.

My CZ 455 likes them.

Here is the ammo trial. Thunderbolts are at the bottom.

Never had an issue it is all I shoot in my .22s. I have fired 10s of thousands of rounds through my10/22, ruger 22/45 and my sig 226 .22 conversion.

We bought two bricks - only bulk they had; they knew nothing about it, said why don't we try it (their other 'bulk' was a brick of CCI Pistol Match they wanted nigh-on $100 for).

The S&W Model 41 was printing near X-pos groups with it; but I did notice when cleaning, there was powder fouling all over the inside of the action.

The Buckmark was having FTF issues and rounds jamming in the chamber, and when "SWMBO" stripped it for cleaning, there's a big ugly 2-inch skeg of lead leading forward from the chamber.

- We're going to see if they'll take the untouched second brick back in part-trade for that brick of Pistol Match... :(

I refuse to buy Remington Rimfire ammo. Its generally oversized, dirty garbage. All my rifles and handguns get a diet primarily consisting of American Eagle 40gr. RN, and target guns sometimes get Federal Standard velocity and specialty target rounds (Eley etc.). The AE stuff is clean and has not fouled any of my guns. I use CCI and Federal ammo; size is consistent (very important for my match chambered BR rifle) and the ammo is relatively clean.

^^^^ This! Federal, CCI or AE all the way. Buddy had the Remington Bucket of Bullets. Same problem as the Thumderbolts!! Dirty as sh#t I agree Rem rimfire ammo is crap. Glad I got rid of all of mine.

Wow was reaching for a brick yesterday and had a thought about bad things I heard then moved one section to the right and snagged a brick of federal. I feel better about the couple of bucks more

Ugh , I hate that Thunderbolt crap !

If it's all that's left on the shelf , I'll not buy it .

Cci
Dynapoints
Federal bulk

That's what I'll shoot .

i always get funny looks at the range when i break out my bricks of Thunderbolts,,,they laugh,,call it junk,,the usuall know it all types,,,,BUT when they see me doing groups under an inch with my old Mossberg 144,,,,they usually shut up real fast,,,and put their $1000.00 hi tech modified riffles back in their cases,,,,mostly high dollar 10/22's,,,so much for the CRAP ammo line,,,LOL...usually followed by WTF was that,,,LOL..odd thing ,,,if i use my mini mags,,the groups open up open up to 2 inches,,,i even get better groups with winchester bulk 37 grn HP's,,,maybe the old guns dont like hyper velocity rounds,,,,but my Thunderbolts bricks are positively awsome,,,and as far as it being dirty,,i didn't clean that old mossberg for over 1000 rnds when i was still getting under an inch,,,had to,,the bolts was getting hard to open,,,LOL...

I just finished a brick of Thunderbolts in my Ruger & Winchester semi's as well as a couple of pistols, while it all worked except for a couple rounds that I noticed the bullets were loose in the brass. I still have one more brick to use up.
