US has 16" barrel and is threaded for, and comes with a flashider. "Export" model has 18" unthreaded barrel. Interesting enough, i saw a US model at a local retailer last week, which was a tad odd.
If I was in the market for one, I would buy the export model because I would value stainless steel over a flash hider.
I'd take 18" over 16" any day (and I don't lean that way); the .308 round has tremendous potential for accuracy. I reckon the shorter (handier, more lethal looking, sniper hide with flash arrestor) variants are more likely to be less accurate over distance - and why would anyone opt for less accuracy, if given the choice? And yes, I have an 18" model in stainless that is on par with my most accurate rifle. I'm impressed as hell with it. My only complaint is that I had to invest 6+ hours in polishing the action to get it smooth enough to shoot - no thanks to Gun Nutz, who did not respond, even once, to my request for insight into dealing with an atrociously (yes, I said "atrociously") sticky action. Now, at least, if I had to insist someone, "Get off my lawn", I know I could actually get the second round into the chamber without embarrassing myself.
ohh k gotcha. thanks!

Sorry to hear of your feeding issue, I had that exact same problem among others with two 375 Rugers and after trying to fix the problem ended up virtually giving the rifles away
