Texas cheerleader's 'big game' hunting photos enrage animal lovers-cbc

Trophy fees ranging from a couple hundred dollars to $35,000+. Hunting lion and elephant isn't cheap. Food going to villagers. Money going to animal preservation....

Cities (among other things) are ruining people's grasp with reality.

I am going to start putting up pictures of myself with the dead animals I've shot. Maybe a nice little caption to infuriate the idiots like "not only did I shoot this unsuspecting deer as it was chewing on some grass, I then removed its head in order to mount it on my wall so I will never forget just how awesome I am"

I'm taking my son to Africa hunting in 2 weeks...we are very much looking forward to posting many photos on social media sites....

And "animal rights" activists don't realize this. They never stop and actually think of how these parks in Africa are funded.

I did do my research. Read the article... Listened to a podcast on this type of thing, been hunting a little myself, hell I've even been to Africa. It's just my opinion, it was legal sure, however its probably legal to do a lot of things there with a little coin that maybe shouldn't be legal. No I don't have a phd on the subject sorry, it's about as educated as I care to get on this. If you think shes awesome for legally trophy hunting endangered animals in a third world country cool, what do I care, go sign her fan page.

Ok let's slow this down a bit for you as you're obviously not quick on the pick up. SHE DID NOT KILL ANY ANIMAL THAT IS ENDANGERED.

Exactly... "endangered" animals receive protection through the funds generated by the hunting of "non-endangered" renewable species.

Just want to throw my name in the non trophy hunting camp. As a hunter, I respect the animal too much to kill them needlessly. There's something that doesn't feel right about killing an animal just for fun.

What, may I ask, makes you think you respect game any more than me? I have hunted over a lot of the world and have taken well over a hundred trophies including 4 of the Big Five. The reality is that you just can't do it so you choose to crap on those who can. I have endured things while hunting that would make you cry like a baby, I have absolutely nothing but the greatest respect for the animals I pursue and I'm not just shooting a WT doe every couple years, I'm hunting for the oldest and smartest of the species and the least valued for genetic reproduction as they have already done that job and are beyond it. How can you say "As a hunter"...and "kill them needlessly" in the same sentence. You NEED to kill game? You hunt to feed your family because you don't have a job and it is the only sustenance they have.........So you imply that you have a legitimate "NEED" to kill a couple stupid WT does, but I can't possibly have a need because I don't hunt slicks, only trophy bucks.
Ah, I just don't have the tact and diplomacy to deal with self righteous bambi killers who justify their position because they eat it.......well let me say I eat some of almost everything I kill and all of it is used if not by me, likely someone who needs it a lot worse than I do.

I'm not a hunter, and I could careless if someone wants to go kill an animal for food or trophy. But I hate seeing people put there fresh kills on FB. It's not the place for it.

Don't need to try to justify yourself to me dude. I choose not to kill animals for fun or whatever thrill you get from it. As a person who eats meat, I do it to be more connected with the process. Nothing self righteous about it, just my take on the issue. You seem to have a trouble dealing with people who have differing opinions as yourself based on your offensive response.

You appear to be insinuating that everyone that chooses to shoot a trophy animal, has less respect for the animal than you do. I myself choose to search out a large mature buck or bull rather than just shoot the first legal animal that I find, and that in no way means that I respect the animals that I kill any less than you do.

Pretty sure the hunting camps provide jobs to many locals as trackers gun bearers cooks what not as well

There's a difference between shooting an animal you are going to use and killing a lion/elephant to put in your den. If you don't understand the fundamental difference, then there's not much I can say to you.

Are you aware of what happens to the elephant carcass after the elephant is killed? Do you have any idea how many people it takes to eat an elephant?

Exactly, each elephant that is killed provides a great deal of food for the locals, as well as employment, and the trophy fees help to pay to combat poaching, and to help conservation initiatives. As well, some of the elephants killed, are problem elephants that destroy crops.

There are enough clueless anti hunters out there, that the last thing that we need, is for self proclaimed hunters,to be condemning legal hunting practices that other hunters choose to participate in..

Man I can only dream of doing that. Good for her.

On a side note, I did comment on it. Still waiting for a reply on this one.

Nice shooting! Ignore all the stupid people who didn't read the article. Just goes to show that the people who are against hunting and shooting are the exact people who should not own firearms. Yes you idiots that said she should be shot. If us gun owners are as " deranged " as you say, there would be none of you left anyway.

Judy ###xx the typical uninformed anti.

Picture is worth a thousand words.. No need to read anything - you're outnumbered - how many children will die tomorrow by gunshot? How many died today? Do you know? Look it up... Guns and people like you are one of the world's worst problems.

Me

What? Okay well here is the egg on your face then. Maybe you should do some research. You may take note of the actual government facts where firearms are much less than half of all homicide. People will kill people with what ever tools they have. Notice strangulation is even on there. So maybe go cut off your hands so you don't kill someone or post more uninformed information. Since stabbings and beatings are way up there too maybe throw out your kitchen knives and any other blunt object like bats, lamps, tire irons, etc. Oh and one of the world's worst problems? I work five days a week and have been a volunteer firefighter for 10 years. I fail to see how that makes me one of the world's worst problems. I was thinking maybe world hunger? Pollution? Civil wars in foreign countries? Those must be up there no?

Judy, more children die from drowning due to swimming every year in Canada than guns. I cant remember when a child was killed with a gun last time in this country. If you really care about saving children you'd ban swimming.

You don't have a clue what you are talking about... and you don't understand what drives most trophy hunters... and that is a love of the outdoors and the game they pursue... trophy hunting is a way of savoring the experience... and if you can't understand that, then you need to examine your own motivation.
