For one, BB course is an attitude check. It shows that person is serious about shooting IPSC competition and also demonstrating patience and respect to other IPSC people around him at the range.
Another reason it was created is to remove liability on any accidents from IPSC Canada, organization that is backing up IPSC shooting sport in Canada.
If you have no interest in shooting IPSC, you have no need in BB course. But if you're serious about IPSC, take the course, learn what you can from it and move on. You wasted more time mumbling about it on the forums.
I have competed at the national level against IPSC, IDPA, Peel Regional SWAT, RCMP, US Navy marksmanship team, Netherlands Pistol team, British Army, Navy, Airforce pistol teams not to mentions some of the best pistol shooters the Canadian Armed Forces produced and no one needed a goofy BB!!
Go tell these dudes they are not serious about competitive shooting!!
... and bet you a grand ...
I am with Redlight on this. If a range requires you to have BB before you can use a holster on their range. how does this make sense? So for those of us who have no interest in IPSC but shoot 3 gun, and train are not allowed to holster our pistols?
Curious because I have never taken BB. Do they teach using cover and shooting from cover on BB?
I am going to draw a conclusion here......
So even though I have extensive holster training, from reputable trainers, competed at the national level, and carried a holstered pistol on more than 1 overseas missions, I would not be allowed to holster my pistol at these ranges because I don't have a BB? Sounds more like a money grab for someone at the range who is a BB instr!!
I love a bet...lets see where this goes...
I'd bet more but I wouldn't want to bankrupt the guy.
As for the money grab part, this really makes me laugh. Let me know of all the BB instructors you know who are sole decision makers at an their club
if its not a money grab why doesn't ipsc Canada allow to teach the black badge and waive the membership fee for those that are not competing in ipsc, but are only doing the course for holster certification, they could also skip half of each day where they go over rules and such.
I challenged my rpal why shouldn't I be able to challenge black badge? why do I need to spend 300 on ammo 250 on a course, when the test is open book? 2 days off work and 80 in gas to be holster qualified? im an uspsa member and it cost me $50 and im allowed to shoot ipsc anywhere in the world. apperantly mr Hansen the director of ipsc Canada doesn't want uspsa members to shoot in his ipsc matches so ive asked the nra and uspsa to review the matter. NRA will not be happy knowing that uspsa members are allowed to shoot anywhere in the world in ipsc except for Canada. why does Canada think its so special? little kids shoot from holster in the states and they shoot full auto but somehow a group of people in Canada have decided that were too stupid to have a gun in a holster well for the exemption of abbotsford fish and game that is. I seriously need to pay 700 dollars in cost t shoot from my holster, are you freaking retarded ? look at the world ipsc rankings, where the fu.. is Canada production nick king 115th ,open Michael lam 184th,standard drolet is 19th that's not bad but seriously americans rule ipsc, they rule uspsa, and idpa. ipsc was created in the united states of America where a child can have a holstered gun. why do I need to pay 700 dollars with all costs and lose 2 days of work to have a holstered firearm and take a open book testtttttttttttttttt????????????????????????????????????????????????????
....why shouldn't I be able to challenge black badge?

scroll down to ipsc safety 2-4 hours 200 rounds and 75 dollars , or you can do a safety check and run with an ro for the first 3 runs and he will sign away. that course also does tac rifle and concealed carry safety course for 75 dollars and here they say 250 2 days off work and gas and food and 500 rnds of ammo. can you say unfair? o ya and it doesn't include concealed carry obviously lol
if I show you the uspsa site that says uspsa memebers are allowed to shot ipsc worldwide will you buy me 1000 rounds of .45 ammo?
did you read the link?
