I have a 77/44. When the mag has 1 or two shells it feeds fine no matter what. When it has 3 or 4 the bolt needs to be closed with authority or the shell will get hung up. No babying it closed, slam it.
I have not bothered with the Volquartsen sear for my two as I don't find the triggers bad at all... I may do it at some point down the road, just cuz...
The follower (the rotating thing inside the mag) is (was?) a hair too long and when the assembly screw is tightened it binds.
The fix is to gently grind the rear of the rotor perhaps 0.005" at a time until if spins freely at full tight.
Also there's a possibility the screw is bent. Straighten it.
