I hold three Journeyman certifications in the electrical trade and opened my own electrical business 31 years ago. I developed a niche in the Yukon fixing generators and wiring camps and evolved into building diesel generators for sale, lease and rental. I also developed an industry of flying out to do service calls and repairs after attaining my commercial pilots license, after a few years of renting I purchased my own aircraft and continue today doing fly-out service, on my fourth bird, but the service remains the same.
Prioritising time and money is what it's all about, some guys have a few extra bucks and buy themselves a new pickup, I went to Africa 7 or 8 times, Asia several times, Europe etc............I have no qualms driving a 10 year old pickup, my status in the world doesn't revolve around driving a new truck every year, as it seems to with other guys.
I worked 16+ hrs a day for the first 10 years in business and offered 24 hr a day service, that's the only way I know how to succeed.............
I also started another business and bought another business and then put the two together (bought out the competition) and sold it a few years back. It's amazing how the disposable income builds up when you have no more mortgage and you get rid of a wife who's been stealing 50-100K a year.............(she ran the office and the books)
