New Ammo Now in Stock 7.62x54 and 7.62x25 Non-Corrosive

Yes. Tentative plan is to drop the price to surplus levels, sell it as corrosive, and sort it out with the factory. That way any surprise is a good one for the customer. We will issue a credit to those who bought already.

I would definitely buy a case if it was priced to surplus levels.

Contact them directly and I'm sure they'll make it right. It's obvious the batch that was tested by canam was non-corrosive so they were confident of the fact.

The ammo came from China... in metal cans.... if you want to avoid even the smallest possibility of error like this buy local commercial ammo.

Tired of being ripped off! Bought this to shoot in my SVTs, now what?

I asked you 5-18-2014 What were test results?
Your reply:5-19-2014, " Non-corrosive, never any doubt"

So are you going to send a truck to pick up the cases I bought and give me my money back?

I doubt it.

Old timey words: Honesty, integrity. "Never any doubt", sure!

I understand your frustration but I wouldn't be too hard on CanAm... I blame Norinco for not being honest about the ammo. I screwed up the bores on 2 brand new SVT's and I'm basically out 700 bucks and have 2000 rounds of ammo I don't really want so I'm not happy either, but I understand their position. They tested a sample as non corrosive and were told by the manufacturer that the lot was non corrosive... It wasn't until I posted here about my issue several weeks after people started getting this ammo that other people started testing it themselves and giving feedback.

I'm sure they will try to make it right with those that bought this stuff...

Canada Ammo brings in thousands and thousands of cases of ammo and sells to us at a fair price. Mistakes do happen. They are not going to crack open every spam can and test it. Sounds like Norinco s**t the bed on this one. It looks like new manufacture but using old primers to me. I have crates of Chinese from the 70's and the primers look identical. Treat the ammo as corrosive until u know for sure.

I did contact them, I got a response saying "thank you for the info" no sorry about the mix up, or we'll resolve this and get back to you, nothing. The email was literally 5 words long.

No. If you buy something that says it is non corrosive, it should be non corrosive. Also on their site I believe it showed boxed ammo. I didn't know it came in spam cans until it arrived.

I clean the #### out of my firearms regardless of the ammo I shoot, and I have both flavours.

cleaning the #### out of your firearms can often be worse for your guns than not cleaning them at all. If it's clean and non corrosive, I only clean when I lose accuracy.

Edited for format.

I only use Corrisve Ammo sooo if anyone in BC wants to get rid of theyre crate give me a holler i am in the Kootenay BC Region or if ur in Calgary and S as well

I nail tested mine last night around 17:00 hrs mine was from batch 4-11-61. Left the shells on the nail (non-galvanized) and left in my garage which in the mid 20's. This morning before work around 06:00 hrs and so far does not look like rust is forming. I will wait for 24 hours. If I can figure how to post pics I will. I tested 2 rounds from one Spam can.

Both rounds the primers blew right out so good thing for eye protection. At this point looks promising. I could see how in a pile of rounds a few corrosive get mixed in so hoping this is not the case.

In no way I blame Canam and frankly, they are a good reputable company. See them at gun shows all the time and always willing to answer questions. Anytime time you’re dealing with China quality control I think you have to realize there biggest concern is production of product. I hope Canam can sort stuff out with Norinco and I am confident they will pass that down to customers.

I will report back tomorrow.

As I said several times above, please contact us for any warranty issues.

All our tests showed non-corrosive, as I stated above, so it appears only a small portion of this ammo is corrosive.

I did contact you. As stated above I got kind of a crappy response. Is there any plan for those of us that have confirmed we have corrosive? Mine is without a doubt corrosive. I can post another pic today at 72 hours, side by side with MFS non corrosive, and 60's surplus corrosive from the same factory.

I'd be happy with a crate that is not corrosive. Should I just try and sell this to recover my cost?

My nail test results came back good. Over 24 hours and no rust. I only picked 2 rounds from 1 spam can but the 2 rounds I picked are definitely non-corrosive hope they all like that.
