Norinco 50BMG make it happen Canam? increase the numbers while we still can .

To the Norinco bashers - Go to Norinco's site. They are quite the company. Even have a heavy weapons mfg division. Their stuff isn't junk, they just have cheap labour.
They are the military arms to several countries. Sure, the fit and finish isn't HK quality. Look at the AK-47. No-one will argue the AK's effectiveness. And it was the first 'cheap and ugly' firearm. I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
If they could make a .50 bolt action affordable to those of us on a mortgage/family/bills budget - say $1500, I'd have to save my sheckles and get one.
Expensive ammo, hell. My daily driver gets 14MPG on a good day @1.249 litre. You learn to scrimp here to play there.
As for the finish. The Harley guys have a good saying, "Chrome won't get you home". Meaning, if it works well, it doesn't have to be pretty.
 
what's the story on this..... I admittedly have only read pages 1 and 17 LOL
has canam replied?
I'd be in for a bolt action norinco .50
1500.00 would be the ceiling tho

If the numbers on it are authentically illustrating the order of the shooting that's not bad; it shows the shooter would had been dialing in the zero as he progressed; assuming he was adjusting the turrets with each shot. As it makes no sense for the last 4 shots to hand sub MOA if he was not adjust prior.

would be nice to see what that group would be knowing that turrets untouched and just fired cross hairs on zero round after round.

ak-47 is not a chinese/norinco design........ fit, finish and quality depends on the country and factory that is producing them.
 
I'd be in for an affordable 50, single shot or not. Don't want to go broke on the gun and not be able to afford the rounds! Damn they're expensive, but I'll end up having one some day. Sooner is better :D

I just want something that goes bang safely and more importantly to piss off Wendy and Paulson.. The Serbu .50 is the best bet i think for cheap . Could only afford to shoot it a couple times a year but it will be worth it . If you reload .50 BMG how much will it cost ballpark per round if you already have brass??

Problem for reloading the .50bmg isn't just the price. It's having a press that accommodates such a large round. There's entire threads of people building their own presses from basically scratch to be hefty enough to resize the brass. If you're spending about $90/50 you're at about $1.80 for each Hornady Dangerous Game Bullets at 570gr. Hodgon's data center suggests a maximum of 248gr of H-50BMG for a 655gr bullet ((couldn't locate a price of instock at this weight quickly)). H-50BMG runs at $32/lb area get about 27-28 loads from a single lb of powder. That's about a $1.15/shot in powder. Already just shy of $3 before brass and primers. It's not the most terrible price per bang compared so some of the more rare and obsolete rounds to source out there. But as I said, the sizing with your average press is going to be god damned hard.


Still, if my local ranges were even allowed to allow me on the line with it, I'd be shelling out for one of these in a heart beat. At this point I don't have to worry about the costs of feeding it, as the only time I'd get to shoot is is huntin' season from an insane distance so as to not tenderize the deer hoof to mouth. Or back packing into some deep crown land that allows discharge of firearms.

I really want to find out about that single shot pipe though, that looks like fun.

This might be a good time to mention the ATRS 50BMG press. Uses factory dies and they are a little "fussy?" when it comes to how they do things.
 
If you're spending $5 every time you pull the trigger, it had better be fairly accurate... I have lots of other rifles that I can shoot milk jugs at 100yds with that won't break the bank.
 
would love one for 1500$ but I would not pay more for it, I don't see the use... would be a cool toy but that's about it.

Too heavy to haul around, too much recoil, too expensive to shoot....

I already think that shootin reloaded match 308 is too expensive, so it's not getting better with 50 bmg I guess.

A nice 338lm rifle would be more versatile, and even then, how often do you shoot past 1km anyway.... 300 win mag does the job I guess. unless you hunt big game past 600M and let's be honest there is a fair chance of injuring the animal unless you really know what you are doing and have your kestrel all set up with the wind.
