Well ya; you can afford it,you want it, and they still make em. I really don't see any problem........then in between hot wiring draglines you can put it to use.

Not really Hoyt, it does give one a false sense of security when 12 mtrs from 6 or 7 bull elephant in the thin scrub in Botswana.........

I was only referring to what the cartridges would be "for me." I completely get carrying one abroad, or for specific applications where they come into their own... none of the applications apply to me personally however... I do enjoy reading the opinions/tales of those who have put them to good use...

I have shot a 577 a couple times and it is controllable, besides I never feel or hear my rifle go off when hunting and shooting at game. Hell I've shot a 4 bore and didn't think it was that bad either.

If I had the recoil tolerance built up, a .577 Nitro double is the only big bore I'd want.
