Shorten PAL Approval Times

So they called one of my references today. The reference they called(my father) said the only question they asked was why I wanted a license. Kind of odd because I'm only going for non-restricted, not restricted.

On the plus side, the guy said my license should be done processing in 2-3 weeks

So, when one logs into the gvnt's site and attempts to enroll as an individual using their First Name, Last Name, Email Address, etc, PLACE OF BIRTH: does that include the province or just the city or just the province or....? Also, what format (spaces, slashes, province abbreviation or full name, province or city first, etc.)?
I just want to make sure I am doing it right.

Thanks!

Enter it exactly as you entered it on while filling out your application no space nothing just exactly you filled out your application my licence took 33 days to get approved received on 13 June and approved 16 July any questions let me know cheers

Nice bunch of f**ers, i try to enter the site via CGkey cant access it with chrome, switch to the old clunker explorer, try it with that it still says service unavailable(downtime communication etc) and on explorer it also tells me "for your protection you cannot access the site for the next 24 hours". It was too easy with the old way of just entering your info as you wrote it on your appl. and return. I have so much trust in our local police force that i don't even know if they actually sent my application for my R
Now the only way i can check if anything happened is to call or keep an eye on my credit card transaction see if anyone took $80 it's been (or should've been) 2 weeks and nothing so far. From QC to NB hummm a day at most?

But that was them 'fixing" the system! It's not a bug it's a feature! /facepalm @ rcmp as usual

btw try it in FF instead of the POS IE

Online status changed to license has been issued, but I don't see a license number anywhere?

EDIT: Not 30 seconds after posting this, I found it.

Process for me:

Application mailed on May 26
Received May 28
Appeared online June 20(roughly, can't recall exact date)
July 9 received latter asking for differ3etn credit card
July 17 reference called
July 18 License issued

Now the fun begins!

I just had a talk with the CFC and my advice is that you MUST call them if you have an application. They will attempt to call your references once and only once. If no one answers, they will NOT leave a message and they will NOT call back. Instead, your application will languish in their office until someone gets around to sending a letter stating that they were unable to contact your references. That letter can take weeks to issue and another 2 weeks to make it to you if you don't live in New Brunswick. So, just call them right away and get your references to call them. The lady I spoke with at the CFC was pleasant enough but they are definitely doing the absolute minimum to process you application. Good luck fellow PAL applicants.

Better yet.. do as has been said in this thread many times.. have your references call in! Never leave it to those clowns to get it right

Hi, I am from Quebec and this has been my RPAL application progress so far:
June 17th: application mailed
June 20th: application received by RCMP
July 16th: credit card charged $80 and application appeared online as "in progress"

I called the CFC today to see if my references needed to call in for an interview and I was told that my application had been forwarded to the Quebec CFO and that they would contact me or my references if necessary. The CFC information officer said they didn't need anything from me for now

Has anyone else experienced this? I thought at least one of my references would need to be interviewed before CFO approval?

Going on 9 weeks for the renewal, so I decided to stop whining about wait times and just call. 10 mins on hold and someone picked up... checked over the app and what not, put me on hold for a minute and said I'm good to go. Online status says "issued" so I should have it with a month to spare. I guess if you're a couple months into a basic renewal application with the expiration creeping up, they're able to help.

2 and a half months and counting now...Called two weeks ago and yesterday and just got the my application is at the BC CFO response.
