LOVING that hunter look. Although I will have to put aside some other projects, I think I'll make a stock set out of some caragana. Hard as all get out and nice coloring! Count me in!
 
Eagerly waiting for these bad boys to come through. Hope something happens soon now that some head way has been made on the cz 858. Checkin in daily just to make sure I don't miss out!!!

Ah, thats too bad. I was considering buying one. I will wait until you come out with a chrome-lined tactical version before making a purchase.
Also that allen key system looks pretty weak, I'm sure it won't last 500 disassemblies, just lazy engineering right there.

The disconnect system will last fine. CZ generally makes good rifles.

As for the chrome lined barrel, it will do just fine without it, most 62x39 is corrossive, so you have to clean it after every session anyways. And unlike 556 barrels the slower 7.62x39 is much kinder to its barrel. And cz uses good steel for the barrel so you are set on that front as well.

looking at this image it appears that a CZ858 "parts kit" would fit into this reciever

am i right?


if so Im assuming that top screw on rail isnt needed for the gun to fire......... we could leave it off and have the gun mostly maintain its original look right?



humm...i guess even if the answer was "yes" id be SOOL because there is no rear sight.


I wish there was a custom built CZ858 receiver that was pretty much like the original but not something the RCMP could ban with their creativity so If I had to I could "fix" my prohibited 858 and let them have that "prohibited" receiver they claim could have come from a FA or was "easily converted" to FA.

This is nice mind you but I simply like to keep mil sups as close as possible to old milsups (yes I see others complaning the other way- they want more changes taking it away from orginal mil sup looks)

^^ I started chubbing when I saw that photo as well.

Unfortunately, on the sole basis of not having the pin hole to hold a 858 dust cover means what you're talking about won't work.
 
I think wolverine could cut down on the spam traffic in these threads by simply staying the specs on the rifles in the very first picture post. Things like "is it chrome lined?"... "Is it cz858/vz58 compatable"... "Is it non-restricted"... "Etc have been asked and answered a hundred times. Can't expect new comers to read all 3 threads, but they should at least read the very first post.

Just a thought
