Great shooting. Will likely add this one to my collection. I remember Can Am too, before all the dealers disappeared not long afterwards.

There is only one thing that somewhat concerns me; it's got nothing to do with the rifle - the rifle is more than I could have asked (well maybe a Dragunov style stock).

It's the possibility if the RCMP doesn't approve these rifles, what that might that mean for the Vz58 and others on the 'ok' list?

Time will tell soon enough.

If that was going to happen it would have taken place already when they went after the 858's.

Grumpy. I am sorry but I believe this will end the corversation. I believe this may be the defining moment. Build this Cz 958 just the way you want to! You have more sales experience than most of us. If the great Canadian eneprenurial spirit is alive and well, others will copy and try to better your offering. There are untold choices in the gun world because of that sad free spirit thing that has infected us all. Build it. They will buy.

I hope so; the last CSA I bought from John made this rifle series one of my favourites.

And to those concerned about the furniture - there's lots of after-market stuff floating around.

If fab stuff and a commercial ar tube fits I am sold :)

Actually i am quite sold on this already but extra sold.

Don't know if anyone mentioned it but the inline folding stock is super awesome compared to the canted one for irons. Hopefully more of those make their way here as well, have a couple that need them :)

Hey gents, great looking rifles and I love the old-school stocks...

When they do go up for sale, would I be able to get a tactical model (as I want the open sights) with the fixed buttstock of the hunter model?

Willing to pay extra if this is the case, please let me know.

Thanks.

I'd be interested in the same.

So will receivers for these be made available for Prohib 858 owners?

I'm quite willing to pay retail cost of the full rifle to have my current prohib rebuilt into one of these lower receivers... so I can stick my middle finger way up in the air as I roll out on crown land to shoot a frying pan!

There is plenty of fixed stocks. Furniture is same as 858 by the looks of it. Worst case scenario you have to pay $20 bucks on ee, hell I think I have a spare one of those sitting around somewhere.

Selling tem with the beaver barf makes room for a suave entrepreneur to start selling solid wood furnature. Shouldn't be too hard, just take the beaver barf down to a wood shop and have them start pumping some out. I would freaking LOVE to see someone start making aftermarket laminate furnature sets like the timbersmith AK stuff.

Just QFT,

Wood is Good.

Someone get on it or else I'm gonna have to pay 300 bucks for a custom job.. :p
