Is 3 gun always a rifle-shotgun-pistol?
Is there a criteria for what kind guns they are? Like short barrel rifle, longer barrel, pump shot gun?
how hard are they to swap out chris ?
Having hosted/run several 3gun matches as well as shotgun only competitions I could suggest what type of shotgun(s) are best suited to the game, but I won't.
People don't listen to the advice they ask for.
So you just posted so we would know you hosted and ran 3gun matches? CleverHaving hosted/run several 3gun matches as well as shotgun only competitions I could suggest what type of shotgun(s) are best suited to the game, but I won't.

I think I'll try one of these three gun matches, maybe even speed load my ksg to impress all the old dogs. Actually I have an 870 with extension, side saddle and rail that would do the trick.
Noooo... I posted to just say that most people will just buy whatever shotgun they think will work for the least amount of money without looking at the big picture or taking advice offered by those who have some experience.
'See it over and over...
Of course nothing beats practice regardless of which gun you use.
Whatever perceived advantage one gun has over others is often rendered moot given stage design.
Sure... A K SG might have higher capacity, but... on a stage with an "empty start"... it means nothing.
i see time and time and time again, guys with $1500 ar15's. $1k optics/mounts.... $1000 worth of pistol and extra magazines and then they have a maverick shotgun.... people need to buy beter gear and start with the shotgun.
versamax, benneli nova, benneli m2, beretta 1301, mossberg 590 even... the mossberg is sweet to load and very fast to pump.
I already have 2 870s that are worth $2k each so I'm broke.
I hope you are joking. I can't figure out how you could make an 870 be worth $2K
