My rifle shoots 1/2" groups @100 yards all day! Really? Prove it.

Well I gave it a shot today and was real close to succeeding.

Congratulations, britguy.
That's some impressive shooting, and a smoking hot rifle. I like.

How long is your barrel, and have you weighed the gun yet?

Just doing a "refresh" set with the same rig used to meet the Challenge (post 251/252) --- only this time instead of freezing temps, now above 25C. Barnard S action, Krieger barrel, in Sako stock.

What is even more impressive is the reloading "methodology" that BritGuy subscribes to... I by no means can brag (insert retort from BritGuy); however, I witnessed BritGuy drive a patient, festidious reloader to drinking. I believe even more accolades are deserving having watched BritGuy break down the Mad Docta of reloading by detailing his reloading "quality control" measures.

In the words of the Docta while bantering via text message about the display of performance before us and the penance due, "Absolutely the anguish we suffered and the anguish of the firearm in question working against deplorable owner restrictions. Many beer, many wings, and TLC for the firearm in question."

Good shooting, pal! Please don't flog me on Saturday... Too bad.

Well, I tried this in the winter and came close and I tried it again today and came oh so close. Today was a little rushed with only about 40 minutes to shoot some groups. Started off well and blew it on the second last shot with a flyer that felt bad with the press of the trigger. Looks like one of my intermediates was off the 0.5" mark too! (0.375 on the cut off one) I know the Infidel can shoot, just doesn't look like the shooter is up to the task in this case! Underthegun... you bested me with your challenge! I am retiring back to LR steel!

Not to derail the thread but I will reply to the above and share my reloading secrets,
Step one: throw together components together in the correct order ( tip! brass colored part at the back, copper part pointy end forward)
Step two: shoot bullets, if they go bang success!
Step three: if the holes are close together my patented random reloading( aka the reverse scatter node method)works!!!!

I was sucessful in this challenge a while ago (post 556) and have been working towards improving my groups since. Thought I would share a pretty cool story with you guys.
Shortly after I bought the rifle I invited a buddy and his wife to the club to do some shooting, when we shot the rifle Micheal and I were both under .5 inches for 3 groups each (5 shot groups), Jenny shot three groups .652, 1.207, and 3.026 (had a bad flier!) Not bad for never having shot anything bigger than a .22 before! After that session I struggled for about a year to get consistently under 1/2 inch with this rifle.
I invited them to come shooting with me again today, and knew how much they enjoyed the 6mm PPC the last time so loaded up 50 rounds to play.
Holy crap what a great day it turned out to be! Rodney (me) .168, Jenny .317, and .251, Micheal .312 and .419!! ( average .294)
Three different shooters 5 groups and all under 1/2 inch on the same target!! Man you should have seen their faces when I explained to them just how unlikely it was for that to happen.
