It is going to be a few more years at the very least

You should go to the precision forum and have a "benchrest" rifle explained to you because an SL8 is not even close. The sl8 is great but heavy and is a BENCH REST rifle. The stag model 4 is one of the nicest ar's i have owned don't sell it!
Im 6,6 so the rifle weight is no issue I much prefer my rifle to be heavyer., I held one in p&d earlier this year I realy liked it. Good to know a new one is coming out thanks for the input
so since weight and balance are similar to the xcr would you apply that thinking to that rifle as well? The sl8 is not a rifle to be carried around in the bush or field it is made to be used prone with a bipod. If you want something to carry look elsewhere. I'm glad you all like lugging around your sl8 and spending money on a g36 conversion that is nowhere near as ergonomic as a real g36. And for the record I have spent plenty of time on sl8 and g36 conversions AND a real g36 and g36c

I still have the sl8 and had an xcr in my safe for some time as well, I am fully aware of how "bulky" the forend is on a railed xcr as wellHave you seen how big and bulky that gun is?
It might have the same weight as XCR, but XCR is way less bulky than the Sl8.

I was talking more about the buttstock or rear of the rifle. And XCR railed handguard is just like any ar15 rail handguard. So your saying Ar15 with quad rail are bulky?
3 points blow. Don't let a nylon octopus #### your gun. Get a proper 2-point.
