Xcr vs ACR

It's that pesky PST and the enhanced model. I don't like the quad rail so I went with the basic forend and the folding stock model.
That was using an M model which seem to be a little better than the L model for some reason.
My buddy has an M and we had it at the range for an afternoon of testing with my RFB and the best either of them could do was around 2-2.5 moa with factory loads but with most ammo they were doing 3-3.5 moa and about 1.5 moa with handloads.
I've accepted that the RFB and the XCR-L and M are not DMR style rifles and when people accept that the rifle was designed to be a battle rifle and that anything better than 4 moa is a good group the fun factor goes up. Expecting it to do something is was not designed to do just leads to frustration and disappointment. Just because it costs over $2500 doesn't mean that it will or should make groups better than 4 moa, you are paying what the manufacturer thinks it's worth so they and everyone else that handles it along the road to your hands can make some money on it. We pay high prices for black rifles and especially for non restricted black rifles in Canada mostly because the market supports it. Retailers have a hard time keeping them in stock so the price remains high. If we all sat back and refused to spend $3000 for these rifles the price would come down and they would eventually disappear and a new more exciting model would come out.
I ended up selling my RFB but it was only because I wanted cash for something new and not because I had any problems with the platform. I actually preferred it to the XCR-M and found that when the gas system was adjusted correctly it would feed and reliably cycle any ammo I fed it.
As I said earlier the XCR and the ACR are both good rifles. Both are a good choice depending on how much a person wants to spend. Now that the XCR-L is supposedly (I haven't seen one yet) available in 300 Blackout it's much more tempting and if I didn't already have my ACR and my 223, 300BLK and 6.8 NR conversions I would have probably given one a try. I do like the design of the ACR better but that's just personal preference.
I think the best thing about the XCR is the service being provided by Wolverine. If you have any issues at all you give them a call and they fix it for you. It's a real no hassle no worry warranty.
I purchased a used ACR for $2000 shipped, and had Herron Arms install a Bartlein barrel on it for a total cost of around $3100 shipped to my door. The gun is complete, non restricted, and in the mail to me as I type this.
That was a used ACR I take it? Good deal nonetheless.
