I believe it reads something like min length is 305mm. It would be better if it was a hair longer...

Just looking at that gun a little more barrel wouldn't hurt the look or the handling.

It would be tricky to fire both barrels at the same time with double triggers, and may not even be possible. One first, then the other. The term "give 'em both barrels" never implied both at once.

This is utterly incorrect. The safety goes forward and you can shoot twice by pulling the same trigger. The safety goes rearward and nothing can shoot. The safety can be set to the left channel or the right channel and when pressed forward, will fire the corresponding barrel first. If you have the safety in the left channel, when you press it forwards it will fire the left barrel first, then the right barrel, with two pulls of the trigger. You do not need to touch the safety/selector between shots. That would be utterly pointless on this gun.

A "single selective trigger" doesn't work like that at all.

The selector just selects which barrel will fire first when you pull the trigger.
Then you just pull the trigger again to fire the other barrel.

When you open the gun;

This is accurate. As JP said, you can call it a "semi-auto" for two shots. ;)

Simple and cost effective makes sense.
I'm guessing that in the interest of cost effectiveness these barrels are not custom regulated for their shorter 12 inch length.

What's your thought on the min 305mm BC hunting requirement?

The shotguns are 305mm by plunge measure. As always, check your local regulations and use best judgment when determining a use for your firearms.

The barrels pattern with FliteControl 00BUCK at around 7-8" at 7Y. With slugs we can hit an 8" steel plate at 60y with some good old Kentucky windage and some practice.

Barrels are cylinder bore.


And to clarify for several comments in here: These are not "cut down" or "sawn off" and are well within the law -- manufacturers can manufacture barrels at any length legally valid under the law, and here we have a legally valid (with FRT and everything, crazy I know!!) 12" manufactured barrel. Go hog wild. :)

My Tombstone will make a wicked dogging deer hunting tool, one 3 inch 00 buck and one 7/8 ounce 3 inch slug with the choice off the barrel for different situation, on the flag or standing still, cant wait to try it this fall... JP.

Thanks Daniel, 305MM is good to go.

As far as patterns, I was more curious if the two barrels were factory regulated so that they shot to the same point of aim at a certain distance?

You should try it next week first then decide if it is a reasonable hunting tool for your needs.

A SXS shotgun always been my dogging deer hunting firearm when i push them on my boys. 12 inch instead of 28 will be easier to haul in the thick brush... Over the years i got 5 using my 12 and 00 buck or slug, distance never exceeded 20 yards... Some of the wisest, biggest bucks will lay down on the ground, hidden and as soon i pass the 90 degrees of it, it will jump to the back, those shots are very similar to wing shooting... I think the Tombstone will shine in that aspect... We will see... JP.
 
Those sluggers are gonna be used to break in my new Toooombstone and make sure both barrels have the same POI ( over the sandbags)... JP.

Have fun JP and if you could give us a range report, especially describing how closely the barrels print to the same POA at what ranges, it would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, wear a recoil shield with that many slugs :).
 
I intend to shoot it at handgun range at 25 yards over the sandbags, they should print within 4 or 5 inch one another at that distance, then i will do one slug and one 00 buck, in the best of world, it should print the slug near the middle, then buckshot pattern around it or close to it, i will report to you guys... JP.

Well, I got my TombStone today. To say this thing is a tiny package is a understatement. Pictures on here do not do it justice. Its tiny. Im guessing a shoulder breaker for sure. I havnt shot mine yet, but i did clean it up as i always do with new guns. My only complaint is there sounds like something sliding up and down inside the barrel, not the barrel itself where the bullet comes out but between the two of them , where they are put together. Its a cannon for sure. You can slide the safety to the left or right to decide which bbl you want to fire first. Then its semi auto for two rounds lol. Feels like a Mad Max shotgun to be honest.

Could be the locking spring of the forarm piece, when firmly click in, it is not under load, thus the little sliding noise... JP.
