Hahaha sorry for my bad attitude but what a load of.....first they make them buy the friggen gun at a premium and in black and now they say" oh since you wanted green we decided instead of selling you the gun like you want we will make you buy it in black and then buy the green furniture"

I don't know, it might jus be me being grumpy this morning.

They released the guns at a price most Mil couldn't afford so I wouldn't worry about there being a huge run on the furniture before they open it up to civilians. Just like the rifles, most of this "show of appreciation" will go to civilian collectors/shooters that can afford them.

I for one will probably get one. I wanted one when they were in black but held off when they mentioned green will be available some day. I also assume I will have enough time to replenish the gun fund before the Non-restricted ACR's land.

Unless they are going to ship with green plastic, you're still going to have to get the black one first. :p

You can't get ownership of a colour. All of 'em are owned and operated by Mom Nature. In any case, it's still on a restricted rifle you can only use on a range.

It's not Colt Canada that is the problem. It's Korth the distributer. I heard from various dealers that Korth is making $500 per rifle.

Their marketing scheme is genius. First release the rifle for as much as they think they can sell it for($2K), with black furniture, just like the original C7s. Promote the rifle like they are doing LE/MIL members a favour so they can “practice” on their own time (how many cops will go buy a Crown Vic off Ford’s showroom floor to practice defensive driving techniques on their own time?). Mil buffs/collectors will gladly fork over their dough because they want to be first.

Next release the rifle with green furniture and scoop up the rest of the collectors who passed on black. Honestly, who really likes the factory furniture? Some folks maybe, but if this wasn’t a Colt Canada “C7” and didn’t have that collectability value to it, most of us would probably swap it out right?

Here’s hoping that the price comes down after the initial release, otherwise it’s irg.com for a US made Colt for me - $1,349 for a Colt AR15A4 when they had them, so if anyone wants the green furniture that badly, PM me, haha!

I know, all their excellent marketing and awesome plastic furniture is making me want a second SR-15. With that said, I'm sure there will be interesting offerings when they release their line of parts. Their barrels will sell quite nicely.

I thought that if you wanted a "real" set of CF green furniture, you had to go and get a rattle can of green spray paint (Krylon OD green was the colour I was told to get). The actual green furniture isn't the same colour as the majority of CF furniture.

Personally I do not understand the Mil/LE deal. If it is to be sold as a priority it should be military and retired military, then every one else for this rifle and accessories. If Colt Canada really appreciated its largest buyer they would have had a better deal in my opinion. I presently own several AR platforms and would not pay the price for a Colt Canada one even though it is well made and Canadian made. Me 2 cents.

If that picture is of the production model set for release to the public, I'd say the color match is pretty close, if not bang on to the real deal.

They had a trial desert tan furniture set. All it was, was a set of black furniture painted in Krylon tan. Most of the short hand guards are painted OD green.

as a guy who works at a unit with over 90 C8A3s, and 30 C8FTHB(black furniture) they are not painted. We do have some green ones with tan paint on them and some black ones with white paint, they were used in Afghanistan and winter Ex. Some soldiers paint their guns, #### happens.
