Wrong Ammo? How often does it happen?

A few years back, a guy in our camp missed a deer at "Point Blank Range" with his Win 94 32 Special....I was at the scene the next day when I noticed an empty casing laying in the moss. Headstamp read 30/30.....that evening I questioned the guy, he produced an old ragged box of 32 spl., on examining contents, there were both 30/30 and 32 spl. Read the box AND the Headstamp.

Found this at the range:

Don't know how many the dude had fired, and if he still use that ammo in is rifle today. Probably a cheap guy ! :)

You know I expected to see that one a lot more than it happens. 300WM and all. Nice find.

I picked up two boxes of .308 that had been fired in a .30-06 at the range one day. Had a good chuckle when I found out it was Conservation Officers that had done it.

I would have thought they'd notice the virtually straight-walled cases coming out of the bolt gun, but I'd have been wrong.

I know a guy who fired most of a box of 7mm Rem Mag in his 300 Win Mag, he couldn't figure out why he couldn't hit the target. He had picked up his friends ammo out of the truck by accident.

I check the stamp on all the ammo for all my rifles even though at this time I shoot .22, .45 Long Colt, .308 and .303 British non of my rifles will even load anything other then their ammo. I still check the stamps.
