M1A Precision Challenge 1.5 MOA

Rodney - I was there and I am still blown away by that 0.4" group. I'll change your Challenge numbers to reflect these.

Good shooting with you today.

Thanks guys,
What started out as a nice day became a great day with that target!! Glad I had a witness, couldn't believe the groups on the target myself until I measured them.
Finishing off the day by shooting a few pistols with a friend was a great way to end the day.

Great shooting.
You made it.

Cheese,

Hey Kelvin,
Where have you been hiding? Haven't heard from you in a while!! This is my second succesful challenge with this rifle, just better groups now with the new reloads. Did you get your front aperture sight yet for your rifle? Really interested to see how they would work.

Hi Rodney,
I am still in Maldives but will be back soon. It's really amaze to see your SA setup is in right setup with the right handload and tune. The preformance is outstanding. Your result just proof everything.
Great shooter.

Cheese,

Hey Kelvin,
Not sure if the stars just aligned that day but am not taking the rifle out of the stock again.... ever, if I can even come close to those groups again. Hope the redkneck shims I used on the action hold up for a while.

Good shooting Rod! Looks like the CASM is working out for you too. Can't wait to try mine!

Tony.

Hi Tony,
I am amazed that this mount works so well, glad I sprung for the steel one, I have had it on my Norinco and the M1A and it only takes about 10 minutes to change from one rifle to another. The best thing is that the mount is very adjustable for different recievers. The M1A required about 3/16 of an inch clearance on the front of the reciever to set the scope for 100 yards, the Norinco needed about 1/8 inch clearance on the front of the reciever to allow proper scope alignment. Windage on the M1A has the scope close to bottomed out to the left I think but on the Norinco was close to center??
If I want to shoot long range all I need to do is loosen off the rear screw' tighten the front one and I have as much elevation as I want for the longer ranges, I think Frank hit a home run with this mount!

Actually, that's backwards; you want to loosen the front screw and tighten the back. That would give you a down-angled scope which would make you hit high. Can't wait to try my aluminum one.

Tony.

Thanks for the welcome folks! Yes, it's me!

Nice place you all have here. Just popping in to see how our friends up North are doing.

I have more vids coming. I just got a Blackfeather, so expect it to show up online in the coming weeks, along with some re-shoots of my first videos to bring them up to date.

Thanks Tony,
Always screw that up, up is down, left is right...Arrrghh. Scopes, sights, need to keep a cheat sheet with me!

Went to the range on Thursday and gave it a try on my new aperture front sight installed. Wanna to share some picture.

Ten shots

First shot was on the bottom left after sight in from 50m. Second shot was on the top and follow by the three at the right. After few click adjustment then attempt another five shots. They all hit the centre and the result pretty good out from the aperture front sight. The ammo is XM M80 149 grain ball ammo.

Will give it a try again next time with M25 national match unitized gas cylinder.

Nice shooting Kelvin,
Can't wait to see what the unitized gas cylinder will do, may be my next mod... so many mods, so little money.. CRAP!!!!
Rodney

I am already very impress with the aperture front sight when it helps me to aim down the target down range.
Can afford the scope now.
